Yes, John Deere made the Scotts mowers. This only pic I have of it right now cause its in pieces. It needs a crankshaft/connecting rod kit and gasket set. I picked it up for free last summer not running. I also have John Deere/Homelite weedeater also.

Great info. I was unaware Deere was out there doing that. How old is this tractor? Looks like it has been around awhile. So, do you suppose that this machine is made to a Scotts spec or a Deere one or a colaboration of both?

I believe the Scotts was similar to the Sabre. They were replaced by the small B&S powered units.

I really dont know but this Scotts has the 25hp Briggs Intek V-twin. Its a 99 engine so the tractor must be a 2000 model.
