First off let me say I hate windows 7 and IE 9, I had this tool report almost finished (a good 15 minutes of work) and all of a sudden out of thin air I hear a bell and a different website pops up erasing everything I had typed. I have tried going back to windows 8 but get a message after downloading it that I can't use it on my machine even-though it worked fine before I switched to 9.


Anyway on a happier note the ratchets and plug tools came today...

I first checked out the Titan's drive mechanisms to see if they were tight in both directions, without excessive slop side to side and then in the up and down plane and was pleased at what I felt... The drive mechanisms are tight and the direction levers stay put.. I tried to pull off a molded on handle on two of ratchets but couldn't get the handles to budge, they seem permanently attached.... The molded grips are comfortable and should help when pulling on hard to get off fasteners, especially when it's cold outside.. In a few days I'll be using them and be able to give a better account of their mechanical worthiness. For Now though, I won't be sending them back. :good2:


The Stanley ratchets are a a fine tool also, I can't believe what I paid for such a quality tool compared to other brands out there. The 1/2" was $15.99 the 3/8" was 12.99 and the 1/4" was 10.24.

The Extra length 1/2" Titan ratchet was 22.62 and the 3/8" extra length ratchet was 17.50. The Titan 3 piece set was $35 as I recall, for some reason it's not shown on the receipt.


The Stanley ratchet mechanisms were tight also and show no excessive slop in all direction's and their direction levers stay put as well.. these are fine ratchets, at least as good as my Craftsman. They are going into my other poll barn were I keep a set of tools handy. Hope you like the pictures, any question feel free to ask.

I really like how the Titans feel, they are much faster than the Stanley ratchets. The Stanley ratchets are 7 degree, the Titans are 5 degree if memory serves me well.

The 1/4" in Titan is going to be my baby, it's gears are fast and it runs so smooth and sure, it feels like a surgical instrument. Both brands of ratchets have a solid smooth click when turning with my fingers, they both spring back after they fall into the teeth. They both feel like quality tools..

For comparison the Titan heads are beefier, the Titan 1/2" ratchet head measures .8470/21.52 MM thick.... the Stanley head measures .7185/18.25MM

The 1/4" Titan measures .5220/11.25MM the 1/4" Stanley measures .4690/11.91MM

The Titans appear to be quality HD tools... you can tell when holding, operating and by listening to their gear clicks. I would say they are at least as good as Craftsman ratchects which is all I require.

I have some runing around to do today, tomorrow I'll do some testing at the bench on a 1" bolt to see how well the titan and Stanley's work and get back to you. :good2:

Heres what I did... I went to the shop, took a 3/4" bolt and 1 1/8" nut and put the bolt in the vise.... I planned on using my ft lbs torque wrench to torque the nut to a grade 2 galvinized fastener torque setting but the torque wrench is broke, for some reason it won't adjust, but I did use it's long handle for leverage to tighten the 1 1/8 nut down.

I was able to get the 1 1/8" nut so tight that I couldn't break it loose with the 1/2" Titan extended handle ratchet, which was a test in itself because the ratchet withstood all the torque I was putting on it... it didn't slip gears, wobble or act like it wanted to come apart.

For testing the 3/8" drive extended handle ratchet I put on a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter and tightened down the same 1 1/8" nut and hard as I could.. I had the same results with the 3/8" extended rachet, it worked fine too...no slipping of gears or wobbling in it either.





I'm statified with them, they seem to be very well made and work smoothly. I can't go so far as to say they are as good as a Snap-on ratchet but for the limited service they will see from me I think they will do me fine, for my purposes I would buy them again.

I don't recall the price, but they were inexpensive.:good2: The lifetime warranty on the package made me laugh. There was no way that these "cheap" sockets were going to take the abuse that I dish out.:nunu: They have become my favorite set of sockets and are used every day. I would say that they are every bit as good as my high dollar stuff. I like the look of those Stanley ratchets. Do they have fine teeth on the action?

Kjung the Stanley ratchets have 7 degree heads, I just checked both of them and in my hand I can't tell the difference between 5 and 7 degree heads, the Stanleys are nice ratchets, I don't see how anyone could go wrong owning a set...especially for the money. :good2:

I would have done more testing if the torque wrench wasn't bad, I didn't want to ruin good tools by going over the torque range they were made for.
