I'm a much bigger fan of the older 2-cylinders :)hide:), but I'll admit that the new-gen Deere's look really good with those super wide, high-flotation tires. If it wasn't for the minor pitting on the exhaust manifold, I'd guess that I was looking at a brand new machine. Congratulations!

I'm not really sure how many hours were on the clock but the gentleman who sold it did a complete rebuild or replacement of every component. He showed me the original tach which looked like 4000+ hours.

Frankly, I bought the tractor partly due to how well it runs but mostly because of the seller's skills and capabilities. It's as close to brand new as you'd ever find a tractor from 1974. His wife showed me a scrap book of his past restorations and I was blown away.

That should give you some confidence. One of first thoughts was it looked like a show machine. :bigthumb:

Nice looking tractor. It would have been nice if when it was painted that the frt hubs were painted the correct color which is yeller.
Good info to know but I kind of prefer the look of the green hubs. Then again, I'm not much of a purist and doubt I'll ever live to see it wind up in a museum :good2:

Brings back memories of me riding on a 2630 with my dad while he was square baling hay with a 336 baler. After I was older, I used it to haul in the big round bales of hay to the edge of the fields. Such a wonderful time growing up on a farm.....best years of my life! Wish I could bring up my own son that way. :(

With new rear Firestones, she's pretty enough to be on a calendar. She's traveling to her new home on Saturday so I'll post a couple of photos next week.
