New X750

Hello! I am a proud owner of a new X750. Absolutely love it!! My only concern is the ride. My 2 acres are relatively smooth, but the tractor sure has a rough ride. I traded my X590 in on it and I have to say it was a lot more smoother. Anybody else have this issue? I may check the tires to see if there is too much air in them. Thanks!

For some reason the dealer forgets to check air pressure. Could be the problem.

My brand new 570 was delivered to my farm with 20PSI in the rear about the same in the front.

Congrats on your new x750. I have one on order and it should be delivered in a month or so. As far as the rough ride, definitely check the tire pressure. Other than the rough ride - how do you like it?

Congrats on the new X750! We are into our second season on one and love it! As already suggested check the tire pressures. The wife mows 5 acres of rough yard and hasn't said one word about it being a hard ride.

I'm sure it is the tire pressure. My X738 was delivered with 28psi in the rear and 22psi in the front. When I called the dealer to inquire why they were so high, they said the tech forgot to drop the pressure down to the normal range. They said JD overpressures them to keep the tractor from bouncing around in the shipping crates.

Congrats on your new tractor!
I went through exactly the same thing - first time I mowed I thought I was riding the Flintstone mobile. Like everyone else said, check the tire pressures, mine were almost 3x what they should have been. I would also check the hydro fluid level - that's another area dealers seem to overlook.

Turns out the tractor had 30psi in the rear and 28psi in the front. Hopefully that was the problem. Will find out tomorrow! Thanks for all the replies!

Thanks for the update. I will be checking the tire pressure and giving the battery a good saturation charge when mine arrives.

So, what is the consensus on tire pressure? I have a new to me X739(4hrs on it) and it rides rougher than my old Craftsman lawn tractor. I haven't checked the pressure but will this evening. I am thinking 10psi rear and 15psi front?

Jack
Imho 10 and 15 is a good start.

The actual spec is:
Front - 10 to 15 psi (22psi with front weights/attachments)
Rear - 6 to 10 psi (14 psi heavily loaded)

Just remember the 1st step in leveling the deck is to set tire pressure. If the dealer delivered it with the wrong tire pressures I would be suspect of their deck leveling - you may want to check that once you get the tire pressures set.
