Newbie with a 4310 mid deck question

Will a 72" 7-iron mowing deck from a 4720 fit a 4310? My 4310 has a PTO underneath. If not can the 4310 be modified to allow for this deck?

Welcome to GTT Smokey.

Did you check with your dear Deere dealer?

My guess is no regarding the interchangeability; but I don't know, hence the suggestion to check with one of Mama Deere's stealer children.

I think the short answer is "maybe". The deck is probably close to being the same, but the hardware and brackets are surly different as well as the length of the PTO shaft.

According to the JD configurator, yes it will. The configurator has the following caveats:

Tractors Require Mid PTO. Mower Deck is Not Compatible with
R3 Turf Special or R1 Tires, R4 Tires will Rub if Deck is
Raised to Full Transport Height. See Sales Manual for Tire/Mower
Clearance Chart. 4510-4710 Tractors Require LVU14258 Oil Filter
when Installing 72 In. Mower to Prevent Contact Between the
Oil Filter and Mower Lift System. 00 Series and 10 Series
Tractors Require (2) M148759 Front Plates for Installation
of Mower Deck.

You will also probably need the following kit of attaching parts and PTO shaft, available as whole goods: LVB25554.

HTH.

Thank you. I have a lead on a barely used 72" 7 iron off a 4720. My understanding is that the 10s and 20s have different mounting but there's a good chance these kits you mentioned will mount it up. If so I'll get it professionally installed at my JD dealer. Thanks!
I used one off a 4510 on my 4310. I had all the mounting hardware from my 60" mmm. I am not sure on the 4x20 series though.
