Found a British ad for what looks to be the same drill that's dated January 1945.

My guess would be late 40's or 1951 at the latest.

Dad had one very similar looking and he bought it after coming home from WWII.

Can you still get a compatible battery pack for it:dunno:

They just don’t make things like that anymore, everything is made to use throw away and buy new. However when building shelves the other day I realized my black and decker 14.4v drill, circular saw, saws all, and flash light combo are nearly 30 years old. I just keep getting new batteries when the old stop charging.

Speaking of old drills, I have an old 1/2" heavy duty reversible drill. It's a Shop Mate model 520TI (not sure of the letter after the T), made by McGraw-Edison. I don't know the year of manufacture. I haven't used it for quite a few years, but it still works.:)
