I want to load my tires with ballast and am considering -40 windshield washer fluid. I've discounted the idea of Rim Guard because of poor availability in my area, only one dealer and they are very far from me. I've discounted the idea of calcium chloride because of the risk of corrosion. So even though WWF is not as heavy as either of those, it is very cheap and available.
My apprehension comes from the fact it is labeled as a flammable liquid. Also the Owner's Manual recommends to not use alcohol based ballast. I believe I can safely handle the product to load the tires but:
1) Does anyone think the alcohol might cause trouble with the rubber tires or the steel on the rims?
2) Also, why would JD recommend against it other than the weight factor?
