I have a 'Woods' brand 5' rear blade that the pivot bolt keeps backing out on while using the blade … :banghead:
I decided to do something about the troublesome bolt by making a 'lock' to keep it from unscrewing.
I dug through my scrap steel bin and found a piece of heavy gage sheet metal, cut out a piece 3"x 5" , and then carved a octagon opening large to accommodate the pivot bolt, then made a dog leg bend in it, and a hole for a 3/8 bolt to hold it down.
I drilled and tapped the main beam for the 3/8 bolt and screwed it down to lock the plate in place.
The pivot bolt isn't going anywhere now … :good2:
