Hello *big sigh*

We've purchased a 2002 JD GT245 54C mower this past summer and love it! However, we've come across some issues finding a power flow bagger (chute, hopper, blower assembly, bags) that will fit. We've found a couple that are listed as GX54HPY****** as their serial number that fit a 54" deck and I wondered if we'd be able to fit that power flow unit from a 54" deck onto the 54C that we now own.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. We've called numerous john deere customer service agents, searched websites like crazy, and I'm just tired of looking :( We even had one john deere sales agent tell us "Well, I'm not paid to look up what you could do online by yourself."

Thank you!

The 54 and 54C are different and use a different powerflow blower and completely different mounting. For the most part that is true, but it seems during the changeover period they used the new 54C model name on some old style 54 decks. My 2001 355D is a perfect example, it has the older style deck identical to the model 54 on my 1995 345, but has a 54C model/serial number sticker. The true 54C deck is larger and didn't appear on these tractors until the GX models came around, they had a longer wheelbase to fit the new deck. I don't know how this translates to the smaller GT series tractors, but it proves that you can't go by model numbers alone. Best advice I can give you is to familiarize yourself with what the parts you need look like so you can visually confirm that you're buying the right one. The JD parts site pictures will be helpful, as well as google images, to match up what you have and what you need. I've been through the same thing a couple times and it's frustrating because the numbers are almost meaningless.

Thanks Interceptor :) That's some great tidbits of info.

I've got the part numbers for what I'd need, I guess I'll have to do some more searching :)
