Power reverse transmission

I have a new 3033r power reverser that doesn’t seem to like going into 3rd and 4th gear.. I feel like I really have to force the lever towards me first then push it into third or 4th.. the tractor now has 21 hours on it.. is this something that will get easier with time or is there an adjustment I can make?

My 3039R was really hard when I first got it. I have about 40 hours on it now and it is getting easier.

I would mention it to your dealer and see if it gets easier and if not have them look at it.

Thank you It almost feels as tho it’s hitting on something like maybe the plastic guide housing and there could be an adjustment made to the linkage.. I have never had a time where I can’t get it into gear tho..

Also are you happy with your power reverser? Do you wish you would have went hydro?
Yea, mine felt the same way. It felt like it was hanging up on the plastic guide piece. I thought about trying to adjust it but it got easier so I just left it.

I bought a 3039r hydro and did not like it at all.

I farm wine grapes with my tractor and the hydro was not ideal for my application. So, I ended up getting a 3039r power reverser instead. I am very happy with the tractor and the power reverser. The duel pedals are neat, but I can flip the lever to reverse just as easy. All of the speed match, power match, etc. were features that I do not need.

In my area there are a lot of vineyards that run these compact tractors and they are all power reversers.

All of my neighbors have hydro and they were all telling me I needed one.. well I just bought mine new and when I went to look for one I couldn’t find a hydro in the size I wanted.. my dealer has one 3 series and it was power reverser.. after signing my sales agreement they had another one available at another lot but it was going to take another 3 weeks to get to me and another 5k for all the upgrades that it had and like you said I didn’t need all of that.. I have 55 acres that I mostly brush hog some pastures this time of year and move gravel and mulch.. I’m more than happy with the power reverser.. I drove my buddies 2038r the other day and went to reach for the reverse lever.. it seems very natural and I also find myself clutching between directions.. I know it’s not needed but I find it gives me more control and it’s almost instinct growing up with manual transmissions

Yep, I use the clutch as well. My second tractor is an old school gearbox tractor. So using the clutch is second nature to me.

I think that you will be really happy with your tractor once the gear box gets broken in a little.

I grew upon really old gearbox tractors and I LOVE my hydro tractor.

I think I would have been just as happy with a hydro but for what I use my tractor for I don’t feel it’s worth the extra cost compared to the power reverser
JD4500 power reverser. Just love it. Only problem I have is after running the 4500 for a few hours, get into the truck and keep reaching for the turn signal lever...
