Seems like just a weird coincidence that never will happen again. What were you bush hogging that would do that? Maybe there was some barbed wire there?

I wouldn't bet on that not happening again. It may be rare but if you look at logging equipment all the valve stems are shielded for a reason. If it happens again, I'd have a protector welded on before remounting the tire.What shocked! said. It wont happen again.
