Kuca:
I have to go back a long way in my memory, but I believe that the 540 rpm shaft is six splines and 1 3/8" diameter. The 1000 rpm shaft is 21 splines and also 1 3/8" diameter. Higher horsepower tractors may have a larger diameter shaft to prevent using lighter, smaller equipment with the extra horsepower. One of the JD techs who are regularly on the forum will come in at some point and give you more updated information.
