Well. I finally made up my mind on which tiller I wanted to buy.. I couldn't justify the "Green" prices and especially since the Deere tiller was only weighing in at 320 something pounds.. I took a good look at county line and decided I didn't want to be on the heaviest end of tiller options and I didn't like the support I got from them when I called for more information about the tiller. Store told me one thing and the manufacturer told me another. When I mentioned that is not what the store told me he got grumpy and said " then go with what the store told you if that makes you more inclined to buy it". REALLY? I just hung up on him. I understand that the stores may not know some exact details but there was no need for snarky remarks.

Anyway. I brought this home on Friday! Land Pride RTA1250. As much as I want it to snow... I am super excited for spring to come! :kidw_truck_smiley:
:greentractorride: Thank you everyone for all of your advice and comments!

Looks vey nice. I've always considered LandPride near the top of the heap for implement quality and durability. So you kind of went from one end of the tiller spectrum to the other with your evaluation selection. I'm thinking there would have also been a fairly significant price difference. If you don't mind my asking, what did you pay for it?

Martin, Sent you a PM. It was over a grand cheaper than the green paint and only slightly more than that of TSC or the like.

I changed my mind on reverse till only because they are a drop in the bucket in numbers compared to that of the forward tilling models. If so many people buy the forward tilling models and love theirs, then I should love mine. I will try to get some videos of hook up to my imatch and use in the spring.

Looks exactly like mine. Mostly because I have the same model. Mine does not have the 10 year warranty decal on it however so that has changed. I bought mine in 2014. The Deere 647 tiller was $500 more than the Landpride but the biggest downside to the Deere I ran into was a 3-4 month wait to get it. Dealer had the Landpride in a week.

Couple things to check. Gearbox oil, mine was low. Chain case oil. The slip clutch, I loosen mine up after every use. Really wish it had a sheer pin. Make sure and do the proper run in each time for the clutch. I had to tear mine apart two years ago to find that a big paint blob was causing the clutch to stick.

My dealer had a few of these in stock in varying sizes along with the RTR Reverse tilling models.
I will be checking the gear box for sure because when I got this home I had some clean up to do! Some of the oil had leaked out of the breather the way the tiller was positioned on the pallet they loaded into my truck.. Thanks for the heads up on the slip clutch! I will be sure to check on that.
