I bought a QH from Rural King for my 3320 and love it but I see that the pins fit loosely in the openings. I also see KBOH sells bushings. My question is do you buy a set for each attachment which in my case will be $120 of bushings? Is there a way to fill the gap in the QH instead? Are there any other options out there instead of $30 sets of bushings per implement. Such as steel pipe or ? I can fit a pin in to the hole on the pin when it is hooked up to the QH.

Technically yes, you are supposed to put bushings on each implement. I'm sure you could modify the QH itself, you can can buy a QH that does not require the use of bushings.

Any implement used with the QH needs bushings.

You can:

-- Move bushings from implement to implement as you need them.
-- Get bushings for each implement
-- Change out the lift pins on your implements to Cat 3 pins. (You'd still need a toplink bushing!)

You can use the "Mushroom" style bushings that Deere and KBOHs sell or you can get the simple bushings places like Tractor Supply sells. There are pros/cons to both styles.

If you search on here there was a link, probably 5+ years ago for a place that had the mushrooms and toplink bushings cheap at that time. They were less than 1/2 of what everyone else wanted, there was something eastern european/russian about the supplier but they came from the USA. I bought 4 or 5 sets, never did get enough attachments to use them all so I have a spare set or 2 left in inventory. Bt the time you get them to fit and wrestle that split pin in place and centered you are not going to want to change them out, it will negate the whole "quick hitch" right out of the picture if you do.

I bought my mushroom bushings off eBay, and i purchased the sleeve bushings at TSC. You need to make sure that all current implements are QH compatible. My JD 25A flail mower is not. I need to modify the mower this winter. For now we leave the mower on in place of a ballast box during mowing season. But doing so cost me a vinyl fence post when my wife moved the mower to the shop. She forgot about the right side of the mower when turning left!

I bought a pair of Cat 0-1 and Cat 1-2 bushings at TSC. They fit onto the lift pins with a secure pin to hold them in place. Just change them from implement to implement.

Hard to imagine someone would want to knock out the roll pins and move the bushings from implement to implement to avoid spending $30 one time to outfit the implement and be done with it.........But to each their own.

My version of Quick Hitching is to back up to the non PTO implement and lower the I Match, raise the I match with the bushings in the saddles and driving off and using the implement. You can even pick up the implements with the I Match lock handles in the down position and the implement will lock itself on the tractor. Just raise the handles on the I match when you are ready to drop the implement and away you go......

Kenny's kit is a good deal. Plus, it helps to keep Skylar in dog biscuits and she needs BIG dog Biscuits as she is about as big as your average GTT member..................she is taller than some and she doesn't wear sweat pants, not to mention any particular GTT members......;)

You can also save a few dollars per implement by following @RalphVa 's suggestion, but buy a set of bushings and a pair of lynch pins for each implement. This would put you in the ball park of you are in the ballpark of $12 vs. $30. Here is a link to Ken's bolt on hooks page that offer both solutions.

Two things to keep in mind:
  • The mushroom adaptors serve two functions. Primarily, they increase the diameter of the lift pins to QH specs. But, they also extend the length of the lift pins. My Cosmo spreader is narrow, so I have to use the mushroom bushings for the QH. I'm not sure, but I think that the same holds for the ballast box.
  • You probably already know this, but the top bushing is not the same diameter as the lift pin bushings. The lift pin is 7/8, but the top is only 3/4.

I have seven attachments what require those stupid bushings ...
I wasn’t about to shell out $$ for seven sets of bushings, so I went to a Steel Supply outlet and bought thick wall steel tubing with the same ID & OD size as the boughten bushings.
I cut the tubing the same length as the boughten bushings, and drilled them for roll pins.
They don’t have the funny mushroom knobs on the ends, but they work just as well.
The best part is I have less than $20.00 invested in steel & roll pins for bushings for all of my attachments.
