I was out doing some loader work and I driving forward and felt something stopping me from going forward. Good thing I checked. I usually have the hydro deck lift hose wedged in with the loader hoses. It must have fell out and hit the back tire. It pulled it out a lot and shaved some of the rubber off the hose where it was pulling through the clamp. If it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg, I'd take it back to the dealer and let them fix it. Has anyone ever had to get that line replaced and so happen to remember about what it ran? If its to much I may attempt to fix it myself. Looks like I would have to take the seat floor, and the fenders off.

I did the same thing when I first got my 1026R....:thumbsdown: I found that the clamps to hold the line weren't installed or installed in the correct position. Here's the diagram from JDParts. Essentially the hose does a loop from the lift cylinder then goes up and over the trans and then down to the SCV lines.

Had the same thing happen a couple years ago. Talked it over with the dealer and decided to just leave it alone. Haven't had any problems. I think the outer rubber just makes the hose easier to handle.

Blazen,

If you tackle this yourself be careful you do not loose the restrictor, (a washer with a very small hole) if you remove the hose from the cylinder. It slows the flow of fluid so the deck does not slam into the frame when you raise the deck. My original dealer lost this when they replaced that hose after it was severed somehow while mowing. Took it to another dealer and they replaced the restrictor and said the hose was not routed correctly at all. That was probably why the first hose got severed.

Maybe your hose was not routed correctly to begin with allowing you to run over it? Hope this helps.

If it just a rubber hose with connectors one each end I usually go to the local hydro shop and have them made. It it is rubber hose and metal combo with a lot of bends than it might be cheaper to get it from Deere.

Hard to believe techs have a hard time installing these correctly. Mine too was routed incorrectly and none of the clamps were in place.

I used it to mow today, no leaks. I will be fixing it one way or another though. I will remember that about the restrictor, thanks for that. Looks pretty simple to fix, just getting everything taken apart looks pretty tough. Another issue that needs correcting on this hose is the elbow at the connector. I have to use the black port and the bend needs to be extended a little. I have to force it in there and its putting a lot of stress on the hose. The bottom of the valve body is pushing down on the hose. I'm still trying to decide if I want to try this myself.

There is enough length on the hose, its the metal bend that needs to be longer. Its to tight of a bend. If I could use the yellow port on the bottom, it would be fine. Looks like I can unscrew the hardline at the bend and add a little extension and it will be good.

Hmmm, that is interesting. That hose end doesn't look correct. I will have to go get mine out of storage but that looks different if I remember correctly.

Well, I was wrong, that is the correct hose end but it is still a routing issue.

The hose should come to the side of the QD block between the block and the reverse pedal lever instead of coming from below.

Just wondering if you could send us a photo of the correct way the hose comes at rev pedal and not below.

Shoot ....that pic makes me want to run out and buy a Deere 40 or Ford 8n....

what happened to solid and simple design ?

Well I got it back together. I just ran the hose through there and used a few zip ties. It definitely works better and is secured better now. It really wasn't bad at all taking all that apart.

I am glad to hear you have it back together and working well. It is funny how taking a few pieces off of a tractor quickly make it look like a dinosaur skeleton. :laugh:
