My dad, brother and I restored this 1968 4020 about 10 years ago. This is the tractor I started driving when I was about 12 years old. I picked up a F145H plow for it Father's Day weekend and tore it down to repaint it. My wife and I finished it in 7 days. I have a neighbor that sand blasted it for us so I didn't have to roll out the little red blaster. I need to get the decals for it and some new cover board and then it will be finished. Just thought I'd share.

Very nice, will it handle that 5 bottom?
I think that would be a bit much in our soils at the farm.

Good looking pair! I started on a 1010 raking hay when I was 11. I guess my aunt and uncle figured I was responsible enough to handle their bigger tractors and got bumped up to their cabbed 4020, discing field when I too was 12. They had two of those cabbed 4020's. I was typically first one up and out the door to get to the field as only one tractor had a radio and rules were first come first serve, so to speak.

What is the history of the whole "round fender" vs "flat fender"?
I wasn't aware that they were still around in '68? We had a '67 & '69, both had the flat fenders. I cannot imagine how many hours I logged on those fenders as a kid!

The round fenders were original to this particular 4020. You can tell an original round fender tractor by the casting under the dash that the head light brackets screw into. The square fender tractors didn't have these provisions since their head lights were in the fenders. If a square fender tractor has them it was originally a round fender from the factory.
