I've been using my box blade of food plots and my little 4010 gets bogged down too easy when it fills with dirt so I've been wanting a ripper. I had some heavy angle iron laying around so I figured I'd make one. Seems to work pretty well. Wish I had turned it the other direction so it could go deeper. Need to grind off the sharp edges and paint it.

I am a high school band director, not a welder btw.

Very impressive, so that is set for a total of five shanks ? that should work well. :good2:

Awesome man! It doesn't have to be pretty, just rip! It looks like it will do that well, very cool.

B# apparently. Going to need to grind the edges off. Already have some nice cuts.

Yep, 5. My box only had 3. Doesn't bog at all unless I get into roots or big rocks.

Nice. Welds look better than my instrument playing would sound by far.
My dad taught me to weld when I was about 10. Don't get to practice much anymore.

Great looking build!! :good2:

I was wondering if you could weld on three more brackets,,,
then you could pin your box blade to the back of the ripper,,, :dunno:

The weight of the box blade would be helpful when the rippers needed a push going into the soil.

The shanks could then be lifted, and you are ready to use the box blade,,,

Not bad for a Band Director. :mocking: Really, you did great. :good2:
Heck, I took welding in trade school and my beads look like bubblegum. :dunno:

Wish I had turned it the other direction so it could go deeper.
Add tabs to raise the attaching points. :thumbup1gif: She'll rip deeper.

BTW, if you decide to go with Black, Gizmo2 has plenty of that color.

My 3pt will actually let it bottom out to the ground. I've go pretty hard soil and it will bottom out within about 2 feet. Dot think the extra weight of the box is necessary.
