Greetings everyone. I've had my 1026R for a couple weeks now, enjoying it immensely. I question the dual action of the rockshaft lever. To lower the mower deck, the rockshaft is used but the 3 pt also drops. Are they both supposed to move at the same time? What I am doing is dragging a plugger around with the iMatch and 3pt trailer mover without having to remove the mower deck. All flat terrain, just doesn't seem right. So, can they work independantly?
Thanks guys.

By the way, what a wealth of information here. There is a Cub Cadet dealer 2 miles from me but after researching, JD has it all over the CC.

Welcome to DT!

Here is a thread that describes the IL setup for the 2x20 series tractors, your should be simular: http://www.greentractortalk.com/forums/showthread.php?817-2000-Series-MMM-Independent-Lifts

I am not a fan of it, because it leaks down, has a lot of parts, and is expensive. You might see if there is a "Lock-up" kit available for the new series. Here is a thread that describes it: http://www.greentractortalk.com/for...Mower-Deck-Lock-Up-Kit-Help&highlight=lock-up

Also, I do not like using rear implements with the deck on, your ground clearance is diminished and your attention is not on the deck so it's easier to run into something with it on. They are just so easy to take off I just don't see the point of leaving it on...just my $.02:lol:

Kenny is correct, you will need the independent lift to have true indepenent function of the deck and 3pt. However, if you are just doing some trailer moving and don't want to remove the deck, try this. Raise the deck to full up and the use the deck height control knob to lock the deck in the full up position. Now you can lower your 3pt without lowering the deck.

As far as pulling your aerator I will have to agree with Ken here. Just remove the deck to do this task. It will really save you alot of unnesessary aggravation. Or again, the independent lift will be required.

Now be aware, the independent lift is a lift only and will not hold the deck in the up position. You will have to use the deck height control knob to lock it in the up position.

P.S. I don't think there is a lock-up kit for the 1026r if it is the same as the 2305. The deck height control knob is what locks the deck in the up position. The lock-up kits are for the 2520 and 2720.

Thanks Kenny & Randy. I thought the deck lockup would be the least inexpensive way to go, I just didn't want to destroy something by operating the 3pt with the deck locked up. Agreed the best of all is removing the deck, which is one of the reasons I bought this model! You guys know you shirt.
