I breath that crap in every day on the tractor at the barn wonder why I do not get E.coli? Gets all over my coffee cup in my side holder. Have to splash a little around to clean it off before a drink.

Not all e coli bacteria produce the toxin. My understanding is that the e coli bacteria itself is infected with a virus that in turn causes the e coli to produce the toxin.

When I first heard about this a couple of weeks ago, I had just finished eating a bag of chopped romaine. I thought, great, here it comes. Didn't get sick but it will be awhile before I buy anymore. I still see it in the grocery, but when you read the bag it just says a product of the USA. Not where it was grown. I assume the store wouldn't be selling it if it was from Yuma, but who knows?
