Drifter,I'm wondering the same. I wish to continue to cultivate with the tractor after the plants are too tall to drive over. If I make my rows 72" center to center, and my bedded rows 24" wide, I think I can still get the tractor through them. I plan to start with 4 or 5 rows around 40 foot long and see what happens. I don't know if it'll work, but that's what I'm thinking. We've had "small" gardens in the past, but nothing like this. Now I've got a Tractor....:greentractorride:
I feel the need to spend someone else's money! You could likely sell that disk for almost as much as you could buy a used tiller.I do not have a tiller but do have a 5 foot disc that will work for a while.

Having used both, there is NO comparison. The tiller will do everything a 5' 3 pt disk will do, and do it better. Would be different if you were talking about a large agricultural disk, but for these lighter smaller disks, there is no comparison in my opinion.
They also work quite differently. The disk tends to compact the soil while the tiller lifts it and fluffs it more.
