I like the LP tractors. Its hard to say what to offer without pictures. How are the tires and how many hours. You ave no clue what works and what does not. It should be fairly cheap.

Since this beast is sitting not far from where my 70 was at before I bought her, I thought maybe it would be only fair that I offer it a home too. It's a 730 NF LP with three point. Not sure yet what the year model is. It's sitting on flats after looking at a herd of goats for several years. Looks to be complete. Muffler cap is in place and muffler and pipe are hole free. So, hopefully there's no H2O been getting inside the engine.

It's not a rust bucket and the paint is still there, inlcuding all the sheet metal and everything else. DOn't know if the engine is locked up or not. Trying to find out why the girl was left at the end of a pasture.
Based on the information provided, what would you guys think to be a fair offer as is on the 730?
I swear, this tractor affliction is as bad as a poison ivy rash, but thankfully this one doesn't itch and lasts much longer. Need to make sure and catch it for life.:laugh:

The tires will need to be replaced. Was thinking about seeing if I could find some used tubes and have them installed before trying to move it. That is of course if the owner will let her go cheap. Haven't been able to get close enough too see how many hours. There's a large Billy goat with big horns that'll have to be avoided. Won't dare cross the fence until I have permission to.
I've been inquiring about it for a couple of months to see who owns the land and tractor. I have reason to believe it was left where it sits now, simply because it ran out of LP fuel. If you see where and how it's sitting, you might think so too.

What ballpark are you thinking? 1000? 600?more? I want to find a small high row crop to restore and use in my garden....but mainly to tinker with. Would a green farmall cub be blasphemy?:lol: What would be a JD equivalent to the Cub?
Edit: Also....since I'm in the question mode...Brian if you read this....,how many and what size tractors do you have? ...and what size farm and use for them ,etc.?

We have a small farm. We own 800 acres and lease about 800. As for "farm" tractors, we have JD 8300 and an IH 404. The IH really never leaves the barn area but is used for wagons or pto stuff. Our 8300 does everything. The 4520 is at my home but used for different farm related tasks like mowing the areas around the farm or for forks. We also have an old farmall A thatneeds to be resotred. The red tractors were my grandfathers and the 8300 is our first green one. We used to have a IH 1056 and IH 1586 but sold them 2 years ago.
As far as the tractor. I was thinking 500 to 900 for it not running, but again, hard to judge as the shape of the tractor would be a key factor.

I'm thinking of offering $500, depending on what else is learned/observed upon a closer inspection. Can't believe it's been sitting so close to that road and nobody has done anything with it. It's not on a main road, but sitting out in the country. Still though, that gravel road gets traveled a lot. Wouldn't you know it, I also saw some other potential machines to help feed this addiction/affliction. My family doesn't share the same love/passion I have for machines of all types and colors.

I found a larger non running tractor last year which had a scap metal value of around $3000, but only ended up payed $300 for it.:shhh: The seller actually regretted letting it go that cheap upon a later discussion with him. He said, I hope you know you're getting one heck of a deal. I said, "I know it".
I'm not talking about the 70, because it's probably only worth 600 at the most for scrap. Not planning on scrapping either one. Just gotta finish working on the 70 before I get too involved with any other projects.
I'll let y'all know what becomes of the attempt to purchase the 730. Wish the 70 had a three point hitch like the 730 has.

Hope the 730 works out for you, I've always thought the old LP tractors were neat.
I realize this is an old thread, but I am curious about what ever came of this 730? The 3-point hitch setup alone if good and complete is worth far more than your $500 offer price. Actually that tractor is worth several thousand if complete, and I am saying this site unseen.
