does anyone know if there is a way to find out what year or when your JD tractor was built by entering a s/n on the JD web site? Or better yet to find out when it was purchased. The dealership that my used 990 was purchased at is now defunct.

Thanks

Call any dealer, they can tell you everything including the selling dealer and any warranty or service work performed at any JD dealer. If you stop in one they will even print it out for you.

Any dealer can get you the repair history of work done under warranty. Normal repairs and maintenance will only be available at the servicing dealer. Those records aren't stored at John Deere.
Thanks for the clarification, I stand corrected.

JD110, can they give you the price that the tractor originally sold for as well from that dealer?

Who at the dealership do you see for this info? Service? Sales? Parts? General office staff?

It really depends on the dealer and how they divide duties among staff, but service is the best bet. Most any employee can access it but at our dealer the service department would be most familiar with that system.

The sale price would not be part of that info. I'm not even sure Deere knows what the final sale price is unless of course they carry the financing, but that would be private information.

when i bought my X475--i bought it from a JD dealer out in Ohio. i asked him if he would tell me where it came from, and if his dealer sold it-in the beginning. he said to give him a little time, so i gave him my number-about an hr later he called me back with the info. since it was only a 2 party owner, and his dealership traded it back in, and had low hrs on it(404) i made the trip out for it. he then told me the rest of the story. of course it tagged along back

i've called my salesman up a couple times, and asked if he would run the serial numbers on certain items for me.:good2:
