Service Reminder / Hour Meter Running fast?

Hello,

I have a John Deere D110 Lawn Tractor (2011 model). The digital Hour Meter appears to be running fast.

For example, I mowed my lawn today and timed it. At the beginning of mowing, the Hour Meter read 100 hours. At the end of mowing, the meter read 106 hours. It took me about 35 minutes to mow my lawn.

So is this operating as designed? Does the hour meter run fast intentionally? If so, why? If not, what should I do about it?

Thanks!

first off Welcome to the forum

secondly no your hour meter is definiatly screwed up and is going to need dealer attn. it will be covered under warrenty so make sure you get it checked out
Welcome to Deere Talk!

Hour meters should not run fast. I have heard of some that ran at slightly different speeds due to the rpm's of the motor, but nothing like that.

Is there any posibility that instead of you starting at 100 you started at 10.0 (ten point zero) and ended at 10.6 (ten point six) rather than 106?

that makes sense since 30 minutes is .5 hours so 36 minutes should be about .6
That is totally possible! I didn't think that it may be recording to the 1/10 of an hour.
I checked the meter again. Sure enough, there was a little tiny dot between the 10 and 6. 10.6 hours!

Thank you!
glad its working, good thinking brian
