I'm looking for a super portable generator for camp. Now that hunting season has finally graced us here in the south, we'll be camping a lot more. I'm looking for s super small and hopefully quiet generator. I don't need a whole lot of power. This one looks like it fits my needs, but the reviews stink. Anyone know of alternatives like this? I have a 5000 watt Coleman, but we don't need that much power and it is pretty big to tote around.

Thanks
Dan

We have 1000 watt portable quartz lights on Honda generators. They are kind of pricey at around a grand $. But they are ultra reliable. Run quiet and such. Also easy on gas. http://www.chdist.com/displayproductdetail.do?9gpla=%7bplacement%7d&skuSearch=3298500&mr:referralID=NA&itemGroupOID=196387&9gag=2202657307&origin=pla&cid=pla_goog&9gad=%7bcreative%7d.1&mr:filter=21844073347&9gtype=%7bifsearch:search%7d%7bifcontent:content%7d&mr:match={matchtype}&mr:keyword={keyword}&baseItemOID=196387&mr:ad=12429980707&mr:trackingCode=A264FD79-AD08-E011-AB84-001517B1882A&9gkw=%7bkeyword%7d&source=google_pla&sku=196393&mr:adType=pla

Don't know about the Yamaha haven't seen one. I have the EU 2000w Honda and a EU 3000? with electric start both are super quiet and reliable. I also have the six gallon fuel tanks to supply the fuel for longer run times, these were in my boat prior to installing a large tank. This allows me to have two pieces approximately 50 lbs each to carry and provide lots of run time. I like the 2000w because it is much easier to handle at 46 lbs and works great with my small truck camper.

I ended up picking up a eu2000i. Boy is it great. I haven't needed it yet, but oh well. We had a snow storm inbound so I picked it up.

Here I am trying it out and wow is it quiet! When shopping for it I was thinking about the 3000i, but you can buy the 2000i and the 2000i companion for less than the 3000.

Both Yamaha and Honda brands are great. You can't go wrong with either one. I think depending on the size that you need, 2000W will be a good general use. It's has the best noise to output power ratio. Plus the yamaha 2400is can be combined in parallel so if you need additional power, just simply connect up one. These puppies are really one of the quietest generator around.
