My SIL "had" a snake patrolling his pond,, it central Virginia,,,

Anyone have any idea what it "was"??

Yep, it was a snake, the dead kind. Best kind there is. :laugh:

I'm no expert but that looks like what we call a Black Snake. Always find them near water - usually 3'-4' in length. And fast....very fast.

That's the legendary "King Midas Snake". It is very reclusive, and rarely seen by mankind...but if it ever reveals itself to you, you will be given the "Midas Touch", everything you do is vastly successful from then on and you will become fabulously rich beyond your wildest imagination within the year. But if you dare to ever harm one...:oops:

With 20 or so of these little guys around the house causing mayhem,

CDPlans - Where I grew up, that would be a big dead sum*****, with strong emphasis on dead...

Unless poison, I leave them be. They do a better job than me at controlling subterranean diggers.
