I'm new to the forum; planning on trading in my 332 for a 2720. Working up prices with dealer on Sat.
The 54" snowblower shows a powered rotator for the chute and a cable option to change angle at end of chute. Past experience indicates that the cable idea can cause problems with age, etc. Does any one make an electric or hydraulic option? Thanks

Welcome to the Forum Chessie!

Gus has directed to the right place. You are correct, the rotate is hydraulic powered. The deflector is a manual cable control. There is no known kit that you can buy and bolt on to automate his function. So, you are on your own to design and build what will work best for you. Personally I am not sure about your hesitation with the cable control. This is what I am using with no ill effects. :mocking: But then, time will tell.

Here is my little up-grade of the cable mount.

I have the 54" snowblower and have found the chute deflector cable system to work effectively. I personally would not incure the costs to add hydraulics just to change the snowblower chute deflector to hydraulic. Having said this if you have other needs for additional hydraulics, like a grapple then this might make sense. Most people add an electronic diverter valve off the curl circuit to power a grapple.

I can see that the hinge will need attention. Nice job you did on yours. Do you know how much the cable chute angling accessory is or was? This item is what I think I'll use. It is compact, weather resistant and may not cost much more than cable kit. Torque is high, but I think some compression springs could be used to limit max torque if necessary. A two position momentary switch should control it nicely. I'll look into this once I get the tractor. I'll share pictures and results once done.
