If any of you have done any RC flying, here's a treat for you. I never did anything bigger than a Fox .45. This is a little hairy for me.
It looks like a three person ground crew but I think all the 3rd guy does is stand-by with clean underwear.
Largest I ever flew used a .60. Friend(?) shot me down :snipersmilie: when he turned on his transmitter on the same frequency while I was flying. Salvaged the radio, servos, control linkages and battery but had fuel starvation problems on the new plane and never got airborne again. :gaah:
I was flying the field perimeter on my second training flight. Understand that I was flying a plane that I built out of a box of sticks. It was my pride and joy. As I was on the back side of the field, another plane crossed my pattern and boom...my plane was a box of sticks again, plummeting to the earth. My trainer that was buddy boxing me tried in vain to rescue my wreck, there was no hope. He told me that he had been flying for 35 years and never had a mid-air collision. Guess I'm just lucky that way.
Then I started flying RC helis. Boy, that was dumb...
