Still need shoot deflector thingy for 1026 blower.......anyone?

I have a 1026 with the 54" blower. Dealer tells me they (Deere) dont have the 1026/54" cable thingy for my tractor yet.

Does anyone have a different story? I blow snow by the house (windows) and need to lower it, then raise it to get it over driveway.

I've seen one fabbed from a different tractor.......I would prefer the one for my 1026.

Thanks guys,

If you can make your own bracket, then the one for the 2x20 series should work just fine-the mounting bracket should be the only part that is machine specific. Of course you can go the electric acuator route also.

I have the cable on my 1026r/blower. It works good. I have had it since mid sept ? Need to have your dealer try again. Its likely the same cable that the 2xxx tractors use.
I inquired at my dealer last week, and all the above posts are spot on. My dealer would sell me the cable for the 2305 and then I was on my own for the bracket. I ended up buying a pair of ski goggles and just let the white stuff hit me if that is the way the wind is blowing. I may end up fabbing a bracket and buying the cable, but for now I am ok. BTW RandyM's bracket that he fabbed is sweet, you should check it out.

Thanks CP, but only if he has a loader. :good2:

Here is the link if interested.

Yea whats the deal on the bracket? I have been told the Deere one bolts to the hood. I wouldnt like that.

I just put the cable on my 2305 blower and if I had it to do over again I think I would go electric.

I believe the 2305 bracket mounts to the platform foot rest, as does the other 2000 series machines. See my link in previous post.

I was referring to the correct mounting for the 1026. Looking at your link and the other picture posted they look different. One picture has a green part in front of pedals and other one doesnt. Is one a 1023 and one a 1026?

The 2305 actually mounts using two bolts to where the plastic cowl below dash bolts to metal in front of it. They use a bracket, spacers and longer bolts.

I made a bracket for my 2305 that bolts in the same spot as the OEM one. I just went to a little more work making it fit and really did not need spacers. See picture.

I think we are starting to confuse machines. I was completely confused you were talking about two different models there. You have to take things a little slower for the old man. :mocking: You are correct they are different. My set up is for my 2520 and it attaches to the footrest on the platform.

Yes, again different, but the basic concept is the same.

You can certainly be proud of that design and craftsmanship. :good2: It turned out very well, way batter than the Deere design. Thanks for the pic.
Is that a bracket from Deere or did you fab your own?
The bracket is a deere part. I didnt know the 54" blower came with out the cable setup. This is how my dealer set it up. I did add the eye bolt to keep the cable off the tire.

Rrmccabe, why do you not like the cabe setup on 2305 with 54 blower?
I have it on mine and I think it works great, and is easy to install.

Doug
Thanks for the pictures!

Eric, thanks for the pictures!

I couldn't help but notice your Resterer & Schnell dealer label. Which dealer did you buy from?

It works great but to take the blower on and off you have to unbolt the cable setup and coil it up. We have had little snow this year so I plan on removing the blower whenever I can. It's just one more thing that I have to deal with and it now requires a wrench.

I asked about the price for the chute adjuster setup and they told me about $100. I though that was not bad so I ordered it. Apparantly that was just for the cable setup and the hardware kit to attached the operator end along with the hooks to route cable is another $75 and needs to be ordered from parts and not sales.

That said if I had known I was going to be fabbing parts anyway I would have probably bought a mini linear actuator and ran wiring to front of frame and added an enviromental connector to plug-in to.

I have some cool ideas for a switch that would be part of the joystick so could have controlled it from there.

Sometimes I feel like taking the easy way out and getting something thats plug and play from Mother Deere but I usually find I can build something that looks better and works better too. When it comes to accessories and implements they have to build a one size fits all solution and it often shows.

Kind of like the hydraulic hose for the blower. Instead of giving you the right hoses they send you extensions for the ones that are too short. Thats just not right !

I like modifying stuff anyway. It usually just takes me a while to cut into something brand new. As you can see from my last tractor (345) I normally dont leave stuff alone. Custom seating, cargo light, 318 tails, tires, custom built sleeve hitch, etc etc.

I have a 1026 with 54 blower and chute adjustment with cable and no "post" to attach to the tractor! Who can I contact to get Mother Deere to cough up this much needed "post" to complete the assembly? My Dealer is at lose as how or who "me the customer" should turn to get Mother Deere to going on this?
Help!

Thank YOU for this awesome site.................
Michael, that is a great setup you have there! I think you are on your own for the bracket, Deere has unfortunately not developed a bracket yet.:unknown: How creative are you?
Am I missing something here? I posted pics of my 1026r / 54" blower with the bracket for the shoot deflector. If Deere dosent make this, how is that I have one on my 1026r ? Try another dealer, or call Reiesterer & Schnell 920 863 2181 and ask them for the part number they use.
Thanks Rrmccabe, I see what you mean about unbolting the cable end.
My dealer did the same thing on the hoses to the blower.

Thanks
Doug

You hit the nail on the head, you have a really, really good dealer. Rather than make you wait for Deere to come out with a bracket they found one that worked and now have a satisfied costumer.
