I just today installed the 14 bushel MCS dump from seat hopper from Superior Tech on my X754 with a 54HC deck and Power Flow blower. The hopper is great and easy to install and use but I can't very well reach back and punch it like I did with the bags to see when it is getting full. I plugged it all up on my first use because it filled quicker than the bags do and the dorky flow sensor on the chute has never worked with the blower. I don't think the new hopper holds quite as much as the three bags that get all stretched out (and hard to dump).
I am wondering if anyone has tried the Superior Tech FS2 fill sensor alarm and can give a review. They are a vendor on GTT so I guess it is OK to link to the product.
I did a search and saw the product announcement on here by the vendor but I am about a year late for the big discount they offered. Now I am a little hesitant to spend another $149 on something that may be gimmicky right after I put $728 into the hopper with taxes and the delivery charges.
Other than the need for some kind of fill detector the dump from seat hopper is pretty slick. I don't even mind that it might hold a little less since it is so easy to dump if you do it in time. One thing I did contrary to the instructions is leave out the stop bolt that limits how far the lid will open. The dump handle runs into the fender on my X754 and stops its travel anyway while allowing the lid to come open farther and leave the debris in a bigger pile.
This looks more like a review for the hopper than what I am after, but I really would like to hear some thoughts on how the FS2 works for folks.
Thanks!
