So yesterday dad and a I met up at an auction. Older guy selling out, hes known me ever since I was little, that kinda thing. Anyway, bought some stuff I needed, some I thought I needed and some junk cause it was cheap. So the tractors came up. An H looked nice, not running brought 2000, then my first mistake, a straight nice sounding 520 with a 45 loader brought 2100, thought long and hard but passed, a very nice 530 brought 8, just as nice 630 brought 4100, clean original 720 lp brought 22, nice 730 gas brought almost 9, a 2520 no sale at 6500, 3010 lp no sale at 6700, 3010 diesel sold 7 ish and a very early serial number 520 only brought 1100. I didnt realize the early 520 was selling cause it was in a shed and I didnt know it.....ugh....non buyers remorse hitting hard today....at least I got 35 vsrious brake assemblies for 50 bucks HA!

Know what you're talking about brother. One estate auction I went to the preview, but just as well didn't attend the next day. People from all over the world flew in and the bidding went absolutely crazy high.

Then I find out yesterday that I missed a less advertised auction where a guy owned 600 Deere's. Don't know how I missed it. Not enough people showed up, so many two cylinders went for less than $1000.

600? WOW i woulda loved to be at that one, you and I shoulda went there! Usually sales that big are at least in two cylinder or gm. I normally try to be in the wrong place at the right time. Ive been looking for a late 420, 430, or 435, so I wasnt really looking for a 520, but dang that kinda money I was stupid not going in. At least I am consoling myself by saying im holding out for a black dash 520 lol

I did find out another old guy is selling out in October, a few lettered tractors and a lot of old cars. Hes got a G that they said I could come by and take a peek at sometime before the sale.

There is an old car auction coming up in nebraska in a couple months, supposedly like the complete collection of lost 40s, 50, and 60s chevys gms caddys and the like.

Maybe we outta ask gtt to put in a upcoming auctions link...

Been there done that myself. I've found most of the local auctions here get very top dollar fro the goods. Old nothing but junkers bring top dollar so the really good stuff is out of my price range almost immediately. Bidders around here sometimes pay above market prices for implements etc. I usually don't stay long because the bidding gets so high so quick.

Ive seen guys run up bids on other guys they didnt like then get it dumped on them...hell I stuck it to an auctioneer once, I saw his shill bidder running me up on a flex head so I gambled, ran it up and dumped it on him, felt pretty good haha. I always figured if im not brave enough to go that far I didnt really want it anyway. Thats the love of auction, never know how things are gonna go, just gotta be there to find out. I bought my GP on an auction and it was the last thing to go and I ended up getting it cheap.
