Some one is going to have to explain to this old man how to post photos so I can show ya'll our new to us 10 acres.
We will most likely have to move out of the house we are in unless timing is perfect.
I need the equity we have here to modify and add to the 1800 sq ft new and never used Morton barn
I am told construction, running gas & water lines etc will take four months.... so the next great adventure begins.

It might be too late for you. But have you considered putting any water lines under the new concrete? Even just putting in some oversize flex line would allow you to run the water line in later.

You should make sure you have a lot of space in the area you will come in from the barn or outside. When we built our house, the builder suggested we bump the closet in the back entry area out an extra 3 feet. I am so glad we did as it makes it so much nicer for taking coats and boots off. Just a little thing but a nice thing.

When I had my new house wired 7 years ago, they installed two breaker panels. One is the typical stuff and the other has the important stuff. Things like fridge, freezer, various lights in key areas. When the power goes out I simply throw the lockout breaker and fire up the generator outside. I have a feed line right by the garage door to the important panel so I do not need to run a cord except 5 feet from outside to the plug. Works great for my needs. If you are not going to have an emergency generator, this is a simple option and also allows for the generator to be used elsewhere.
