While mowing today the LX255 lost steering control. Right away I could see the tie rod laying on the ground on the right side. I only had half of the back yard to go so I popped the rod back on the ball and made a couple more rounds before it fell off again. I thought about getting a couple big hammers to swag it back on and then I remembered the parts LX277 sitting next to the shop. I pulled the tie rod off and installed it on the LX255 and was back in business. Its nice having lots of junk around sometimes.

Oh, Sorry. I don't know what I was thinking. I need to remember this stuff is not junk, it's assets. ;)

I ran a go kart track the summer after my freshman year. Starting having tie rod ends drop and had to replace them all. One guy came out of a turn and just sat there all the way down the straightaway. He could have just let up on the gas. He could have hit the brake. He could have bailed out before running into the fence and running the fence between a couple fingers. No, he sat there like a dummy: completely froze. Should never drive a vehicle of any kind.

Luckily, that was before people were suit happy.
