tips/suggestions for slipping the clutch on RC2048 on 1025R?

Hello,

I have a 1025R with the RC2048 rotary cutter, and haven't used the rotary cutter all winter. It's my understanding that I need to slip the clutch on the RC2048 before using it, since it's been sitting (more than 30 days according to the manual). I've read the manual, but have never done this before, and I was just wondering if anyone that has one of these has any tips or suggestions that might help. Doesn't seem too difficult, but I certainly don't want to screw anything up.

Thanks!

Just loosen the clutch adjustment bolts, mark the 2 halves with a paint marker, start the PTO and let it slip for a couple seconds. you can tell if it slipped by the paint marks. I usually store mine with the clutch loosened up.

Thanks!

Are socket extensions used to access the nuts within the shield, or is there a way to remove the shield without taking off the entire PTO assembly?
