I bought a 2018 1025R TLB in November. The place I bought it has a 10 year warranty, 6 years through JD, then 4 years through them. Thing being that they have to do all the service and repair through the first 6 years for the last 4 years for the warranty to be valid. I'm sure a lot of you have seen or heard of the same deal.
I just passed over the 50 hour mark, and it's time to think about the first service. I do not know if I will even have the tractor for the first 6 years, let alone 10. I also wonder if after the 6 year JD warranty is up, if something does break, will I get the run around, ya know what I mean.
I have a decent shop, well tooled and am way more then comfortable doing the 50 hour service Myself, I'll do the engine oil as well.
So here is my question, pay the dealer, or buy a filter pack and oils and get er done? I kind of think that I just need to do it and save some money, but I wonder if anyone has any input or experience they could tell me about in this situation? Reputable dealer, have been totally happy with them so far in this deal.
Thanks,
Dave
