I will post available trips on this thread ....:read

I haul antique & farm tractors - implements - carts - utv's

I also haul vehicles too ... :greentractorride:

Check the latest post below to see where I am headed to next ...

Anchor load transport determines smaller load transport availability

On most trips I have room to haul smaller loads - routes are specific

I am on the road over 300 days a year in the lower 48 states ....

Direct enclosed transport from pick up to drop off

34 feet fully enclosed
Up to 8000 pound capacity
96 inch maximum height

Direct from pick up to drop off
No transfer or trailer shuffle

Load & unload by wireless remote control winch
Four piece aluminum staged ramps
Low clearance vehicles - no problem

Safe daylight driving at 55 m.p.h.
I average 300 to 400 miles a day

No text messages ... :soapbox:

Thanks !

Sorry Tom,

No plans to travel that route anytime soon ....

The owner of this forum has prohibited me from posting where I am heading to next along with posting my contact information
so I can't let members know where I am going to to .... :nunu:

I did enjoy posting pictures from my travels & what I was hauling while it lasted .... :munch:

Thanks Tom ....

My comments will probably be edited or removed and/or I will probably be banned ....

But ....

There is a growing trend on public forums that when ownership/management changes hands,
the new owner/manager appears to attempt to sqeeze every penny from the forum that they can.

I got perhaps one hauling job in the years I posted - I did it more to let folks know where I was headed to next
and what room I had available for transport along with interesting people & places I stumbled across along the way ....

The new owner/manager sent me a PM - I replied offering to perhaps pay a nominal amount for maintaining my thead,
but the reality is such there is not much money in what I do & I cannot afford to be a Forum Sponsor.

I do not get enough " business " for that here .... :dunno:

He never replied to my offer ....

I will miss seeing pictures of the cargo that you haul, Jim. You hauled some really neat machines.

Thanks for the enjoyment.

Not sure I follow ...

Jim, how many did you turn down?
Not sure I follow your question ....

Every day I get calls from folks I politely refer to as " geographicaaly challenged " .... :banghead:

Just yesterday - after I posted availability to haul on another forum from Waco, TX to Dayton, OH ...

A guy called me and asked if I would " swing by " Denver, CO along my way to drop off a small load
he needed hauled from Houston, TX .... :dunno:

So - when you say " how many did you turn down " ....

I am not going to pay out of my pocket to haul a load .... :munch:

Less than free ...

Less than free .... :bigthumb:

I posted availability to haul from Waco, TX to Dayton, OH - 1100 mile trip

He requested I drive from Waco, TX to Houston, TX to pick up for him ....

A $100.00 offer from him ....

Then drive from Houston, TX to Denver, CO to drop off for him ...

Adding that " swing by " would have resulted in a trip of over 2400 miles (more than double) .... :greentractorride:

He insisted it was " not out of my way at all " .... :banghead:

Here is a disc plow I recently hauled .... :thumbup1gif:

I would have thought you would have a fee per mile, or fee per pound (or block of space) per mile, and that is what would determine your acceptance of a job, or not. I know when I have to travel outside of the area for work, the company charges the customer a mileage fee. Is that your customary practice?

I post specific routes that are determined by anchor loads - on those trips I usually have room leftover for large & small items.

To be cost efffective - the pick up & drop off has to be along my route.

What I charge is ..... not much at all .... :kidw_truck_smiley:
