I am in the market for a small tractor, and I want to look at the 2025, 2032, and 2038. However, after visiting two dealers in north Mississippi, they do not have a single 2k series on the lot! Plenty of 3k e series, and a couple 1025r's. Is there a shortage of the 2k series, or is the demand that high?

Different dealers have different stock on hand. My dealer has had 2-series machines on their lot. They haven't had any 3R-series for over a year.

From what I have heard, Deere sold a lot of stuff in 2020 with more people at home looking to tackle projects, stimmy money in their pocket and all. Probably used up a good bit of existing inventory. I talked to the local dealer a few days ago, IIRC they're now only getting 25% of what they got the same time last year. They also said production was focused on certain machines so there's more 3E available than 2R or 3R. They have a lot less on the lot than they usually would.

Currently I'm waiting 3 months for a large 2R and another month after that for the loader.

My dealer has nothing on the lot but they can order machines to be built for a customer. They’ve shown me several models in the service bay just so i can get a close look. It sucks not being able to test drive though but it was still helpful to actually see them. Maybe thats worth an ask 🤷‍♂️

Most goods these days are on extreme back order. Probably going be like this for at least the coming year.

I have a bicycle I custom ordered in March and then they said to expect it end of April, called them this week and they are still waiting on a few parts that they are hoping to get by mid June.

I went to order a MX9900 chipper and they wont even take any orders right now!

I can still get rock from the quarry and have a ton of trees that need clearing so I have something to keep me busy!

The word I heard from my dealer in VT is 6 weeks ago he had all kinds of stuff on the lot. Then the Deere sale started. 0% APR etc. which lasted until May 3rd. At least up here. By the time I bought my NEW 2038r in late April, they didn't have a single large 2-series at any of their 5 dealerships in New England. I also heard Deere had some shortages during early COVID, not sure if it was a combo of plants closing for a short time, or the steel shortages, or lack of workers on the lines. I also heard they sold a lot of tractors in 2020. I contacted other dealers in VT and none of them had any large 2-series tractors either to see or test drive. My new 2038r is scheduled to be delivered in VT from GA in mid-June 2021.

But to be honest, my local dealer doesn't have much on their lot at all right now. Maybe a 1/3rd of the inventory they normally have this time of the year. My sales guy says he has a lot on order though... I keep saying to myself.... "It's worth the wait Ron, it's worth the wait!" "Just hang in there!" (like I'm some sort of tractor junkie)

Yep last year I ordered my 2038R in May, I took delivery at the start of Sept. Even then they apparently ran out of R4 tires or wheels so I got R3 radials for free! Apparently my dealer stopped even taking orders for 2 series mid summer last year. So if you want one and can get an order in I would recommend doing that.

Oh-man... I sure hope that doesn't happen to me! I got BIG holes to dig and piles of brush to tackle with my new grapple setup! My tractor is supposed to be on June 15th, as of right now. But they are having trouble getting a 270b backhoe and a set of grapples, which he said would be here sometime in July. The delivery date was June 28th, until my dealer reported my purchase, and then Deere moved up the delivery date to the 15th. So here is hoping it will be here cause I am planning my vacation week when it arrives! Woohoo!

I also have an anticipated delivery date of June 15th. I ordered my machine back in early February. He said I could have gotten one with the R4s a lot sooner, but there is a back-order on the R3 Radials. I did give the dealer a call the end of last week to make sure we were still on schedule. He did in fact confirm that they are still scheduled to receive the tractor at the dealership by the June 15th date at the latest. They already have the loader on site. He did tell me that as I have had to wait so long for my tractor that they were going to ensure that I went to the front of the line for the dealer setup items and that I should be able to take delivery 2-3 days after they receive it.

I am getting pretty excited at this point. Only 1 month to go!

If you find one, best to jump on it. I have seen the same thing with dealers around my area. I have 4 different dealerships two different dealer groups in my area. Inventory is in bad shape. You might try the Deere machine finder tool.
Its primarily for used equipment, but some dealers do list new inventory on there as used with 1hr on them.

The search links below should be nation wide searches, limited to 1-5 Hrs for each of the 2R series tractors mentioned.

Just in case the search parameters should drop off in these links simply enter min hours 1hr - to a maximum 5hr.

I was very lucky with my 2038R purchase. My dealer was able to locate a 2021 - 2038R from one of their dealers in Texas. It was just a 2 weeks wait.

The dealer had one 2025R, one 2032R, a few 3025E’s, and 1025R’s when I started to look for my tractor (March 2021). A month later they had only two 3025E’s and four 1025R. Their inventory still has only a few tractors available.

I order a Backhoe and pallet forks when I bought my 2038R and both still on backorder and probably will arrive sometime in June/July.

I had posted this a few weeks ago in the LCUT area.

I ordered a 2025R TLB/MMM in mid March, quoted delivery was July. It did move up to late June a week ago. The dealer's already receiving parts and the 260B at his location. All coming in as they become available.

My dealer sometimes goes to Augusta to pickup his orders. He was there a few weeks ago and saw over a thousand SCUT and MCUT in the shipping area. He asked why aren't they shipping these out. He was told they're all missing minor parts to make it a finished product ready to ship. Depending on the model and how long the unit has been sitting, it could be as simple as a fuel tank cap or air filter assembly and/or other minor...but important...parts. As far as these units being stock orders or sold orders, no info on that. You would think all the inventory sitting there is uncollected cash and Deere can't collect it until these under $100 items come in.

Luckily I was able to snag my 2038r back in March. It was the last one my dealer had in there network, not sure what they have in stock at the moment.

My dealer has a ton of stuff on order, most for customers, some for stock. Between reading on here and other tractor groups it is a common thing, oddly, my dealer has had a 2032R w/220R and R3 radials sitting on there lot for over two months, salesman said if it was a 2038R it would have been sold a dozen times. I wouldn't think that there would be that much more demand for the 38R over the 32R, but apparently there is, at least around here.
