I'm 82 , a retired mech eng , have (2) 425's & (1) 2320 , been a motorhead , hot rodder , most of my mature life , still messing w/ cars . Built & flew ultralights for 10 plus yrs plus giant scale RC planes .
Also am a huge bluegrass music lover , play banjo , built , collected , repaired related instruments for many years .

I joined this site as I'm having problems diagnosing one of my 425's quitting on me sporadically . I think it may be something to do w/ the engine stop solenoid which seems to function ok upon checking it but think it still some how influences the way in which the motor dies unexpectedly after running for awhile ?

Welcome from Athens Tn.

Get an inline spark tester. Next time it dies, install spark tester and crank engine. If spark, then it's a fuel issue! Bob

Welcome from southern ky!

That solenoid may be wired in series with an oil pressure switch and a kill switch?

Thanks Bob , I'm no newby to engines & their problems but I'm about ready to throw in the towel on this maybe for a little while ! It sure acts like a fuel problem ?

Welcome, you old fart.....I am just a kid compared to you, just 78yrs.
Gotta think on this one a bit....could be a short in electrical, could be fuel related. Fuel problem would
maybe be easier to locate ????

Had a 1984 spanking new El Dorado, go to lake house on weekend, run like scalded ape on Interstate,
then shut down to 35mph......embarrassing, folks thought I was drunk, pass them, then be on shoulder doing 35......
Took forever, even had it towed 125mi back to dealer TWICE, found out it was a faulty fuel pump down in gas tank.
Swerve on shoulder, hit a bump, she would haul ass again.
Larry Lange Cadillac (Dallas) even tried to charge me a $600 tune-up to fix it, hold my car hostage.....when less than 2 months old.
Bought the car from him.....new.
