I'm trying to removed the auto connect mower deck from my 2020 1025r. I cannot release the left rocker lever (drivers side) to remove the deck. The right side is free and as expected. I'm on level ground, deck directly on ground, pto set to rear and followed the manual instructions, watched videos etc. This should be easy. What am I missing ? I'd appreciate the help

First off thanks for posting. Yes. Also manually tried pushing the deck back to get the latch bar over the hook. I also greased it hoping that might help. no luck.

Any other suggestions?

Try pulling back towards the rear tire on the side giving trouble.
If that does not work try jacking up the back of the tractor just a little bit.
If you have any help there, have them continually check that lever for the pressure to release it while jacking it up slowly.

Bottom line if simply pully back on that side with the issue does not work, and jacking it up does, then it is not adjust properly.

Very common complaint around here. Dealers seldom take the time to setup the deck properly and much less double check that it actually comes on and off as it should.

The mower mounting mechanisms changed in mid-2020. Do you know whether you have the "up to 2020-1/2" or the "after 2020-1/2 lift mechanism? Most of us here obviously have the older setup and will be of limited assistance to you. A few have the newer setup. If you have the newer one, help might be a little slow coming as the pool of experienced users is still small.

That's been my intuition all along but will try jacking it up first and give that a try. gracias amigo.

bought it in 2020 so I guess it's the former. Either way I'm very appreciative of you guys

Additional check would be tire pressures. They do affect leveling.

Did you pull pins from both sides to release the latches? The new models do not have the spring loaded release, its a hairpin clip on eiher side.....

It might be hanging up on the PTO shaft coupler, I think the set screw in the male side sometimes backs out causing it to hang up. Mine was doing that because the dealer didn't locktite it when they did the setup and it damaged the autoconnect coupler, they quickly came and picked up my tractor and fixed it under warranty.

The new decks don't have pins. There's a latch on each side that needs to be flipped up to remove the deck.

You are missing the hair pins that act as a safety mechanism, they simply go in the hole above the slot to prevent the latch from flipping up. They were on my tractor the day I brought it home in November.

I did not get the pins either. I also have to pull back on mine to get the deck off. It's not a big deal but it's still a pain.

My dealer did an awesome job with setup and even delivered it to me with a full tank of fuel. However this is the first I've seen or read about those pins on the new style mower deck lift arms. I've never had a problem with the latches coming undone.

If OP has individual left/right latches then he has the new style, like I do. And sometimes, even though my deck normally removes and installs without any problems, sometimes one hook or the other just won't clear the latch. All I've done the couple times this happened is given it some persuasion by running the tractor a few inches forward then a few inches back, basically juat have it in low range and give a quick stab on each travel pedal. It'll unseat eventually.

No pins with mine either and I can't find them in the parts listing.

Are they just regular 1/8" hairpins?

Last week I installed my mulch kit and put the deck on the tractor. When removing it I also had an issue with the left side latch not wanting to release. A couple of jolts on the pedals to & fro and it finally came free. If the weather holds this weekend I may get under there to make sure everything is adjusted properly.

I did have the deck resting on a 4'x3'x1/2" thick stall mat so maybe that extra 1/2" had something to do with it. Or, maybe it just needs to work in all the connection points...

Mine came with the pin installed in the hole to the right of where they are installed in this pic...dealer said to r&r the pin when attaching/detaching as the pin prevents the swing lever from accidentally coming undone - honestly doubt I'll do that but that's what the dealer said.

Loosen the nuts on the front draft/control arm. If they are too tight you will never get the clearance for the flippers to flip up. I have my set showing 1/2 inch of thread towards the front but your results may vary as the turnbuckle settings influence the front. Played around with it and anytime I had less than a 1/2 inch, the flippers wouldn't flip up.

If you can't loosen the front arm you can remove the bolts going through eyebolts holding the autoconnect to the tractor lift mechanism. Other option is to put a 2x4 under the deck and lower it and remove the pins in the turnbuckle. Either way once you have the autoconnect disconnected from the tractor lift mechanism you can back off the deck.

Final advice, put the tractor in neutral when you lower the deck down after releasing the gauge wheels. When the tractor is in neutral lowering the deck pushes the tractor backwards a little.
