Versa Tires

I'm ordering a new 1025R with turf tires cause, I mainly mow my lawn with the tractor.
Here's the question, would Versa Turfs be better than the regular turf tires? I'm looking for the least amount of damage to the lawn but, would like the traction in snow when I'm plowing the driveway.

The VersaTurf's are infinitely better than regular turfs and might just be the best tire for a 1025R!

I mow with Versa Turfs and they work great. I haven’t had other tires so can’t compare but very happy so far.

For winter use I’d run v bar tire chains no matter which tire was on my tractor. I have the r4s on my tractor. They don’t seem to hurt my lawn. I have been thinking of replacing the front tires with the Versa Turfs . I get the Versa Turfs if you plan on doing anything other than mowing with your tractor.

The VersaTurf's are a great tire for mowing. They are excellent in snow as well. R4's can't even come close to matching what the VT's can do.

R4’s are pretty awesome. No complaints from me.

I plowed and snow-blowed for 2 winters in WNY with r4’s and thought the were awesome. UNTIL I swapped to verse-turfs. I didn’t know what I was missing. The driveways I do that were always in 4wd + diff lock became 2wd only. My scariest driveway is a huge turn-around on a slope; r4’s, going across I would slip. Versa-Turfs are like a mountain-goat on the same driveway.

the only trade off from r4’s is mud-clearing, but compared to regular turfs, they clear MUCH better.

JD said they were about $400.00 more, I'm questioning if they're worth it?

Better ride from what I'm told too. Waiting to wear my R4s more. Sipping the R4s helped traction tremendously for all conditions including winter, but not the ride. I no longer need chains.

I went from R-4’s to the Versa Turfs. Very glad I did. Im very happy with the performance and more comfortable ride too. I got a price from dealer to purchase and change tires that was way too high. First tire dealer I called that was not a chain store but privately owned said, “I will have them tomorro, bring your rims with the R-4’s” he was just about 1/2 the John Deere cost swapped on rims and out the door.

I don'r think R4's clear mud very wheel. I am going to versa turfs at some point.
Every penny.
I 2nd this
I already have "crop circles" around some of my trees from my turf tires.
The Versa Turfs look more aggressive on the outside of the tire which means they would tear up more grass than the turf tires when turning.

The only time mine do any damage is when the ground is still a little wet and I have it in 4WD. If you slow down and don't turn full lock it's usually not a problem.

The VersaTurf's are more rounded so they are much easier on turns. Plus they have a lot more flex being radials.

I had R-4’s so Versa Turfs were a total improvement. Never had turfs so can’t compare. But if it helps, I have to circle around quite a bit due to certain obstacles and edges and have no marking problems in the grass including some wet areas and next to wet ground near garden stuff.

If the dealer told me that I get the tractor with the industrial units and purchase the versa turfs on the side. Sell the industrial tires on E-bay or cregs list. Cost you a lot less that way.
