I'm new to the forum, having recently purchase a 1025R FEL 60D MMM and also a Wallenstein BX42 chipper. I wasn't sure if that would be too much chipper for the tractor but have now used it for the last month and find it a great setup. I have 3.5 acres with many white pines, locust, and silver maples. Prior to the purchase I had a huge burn pile twice a year. Anyway, the 1025R has plenty of power for anything I can fit in the chute. Generally if it won't fit in, I'm cutting it up for firewood. The biggest limbs will cause a slight drop in PTO RPM but not a big deal and the vast majority of what I put in doesn't even phase it. Took me a second look at the manual to figure out how to get the rear PTO to stay on with me dismounted but JD seems to have thought through the switch operation very well. Thanks to a few forum members who had posted some info on the Wallenstein products.
I bought the chipper at Woodward Crossings, and had excellent service. Unlike my JD Dealer, who in theory sells the same product, Woodward Crossings knew everything about the chipper, and their price was much less than the dealer. Anyway, to me that's a perfect design, and with the iMatch hitch it goes on and off in less than a minute.
