Yesterday I replaced the detent clip on the mower height adjustment assembly on my 2305. It’s not a bad job if the deck is removed and the loader is used to lift the front wheels off the ground. Simply remove the knob and unbolt the assembly, install the clip, and reinstall the assembly and knob.

Also, replaced the seat springs. The rock shaft lever was hanging up on the seat due to the old ones being so deteriorated. Works great now.

Today I completely re-rigged the mower lift rod, rear draft arm linkage, and front draft linkage. It’s a bit tricky to get the height adjust knob to turn 360* while simultaneously creating a gap between the rear draft arm and the stop. Once that’s done, leveling left to right and fwd to rear isn’t too hard but it is tedious. It’s all spot on now.

Got a cpl hrs seat time mowing today. Nice breeze, not a cloud in the sky, low humidity. Perfect day to mow.

Might be hidden but I don’t see any ballast on that machine picking up the Cub Cadet.
Beet juice in rear tires?

I replaced the springs and bushings on the J quick disconnect hooks on the 62C deck. They kept popping out of the deck mount so we’ll see if new springs and bushings keeps the pin seated. I must be living right cause the deck is still level.

I used my FEL bolt on hooks and a chain to pull some saplings out of the ground then pushed the brush pile down to the County debris pickup point. It was fun popping those suckers up.

Used the FEL to flex new lumber for a trailer deck.

I'll ask a dumb question.
What is flexing the lumber and why?
If its like my trailer the boards go under angle iron at the front and rear of the trailer.

+1

The lumber is held in place by two caps on each end of the trailer frame. I could cut one end then weld it back or drill holes and bolt it down but I decide to use some scrap pieces, place them between the frame and board, flex the tip into position in the frame and knock the scrap pieces out of the way and walla.... new trailer deck — no cutting metal, no drilling, no welding.

I removed my tail lights years ago. I don’t travel on roads and I got tired of replacing lenses.

Hooked up the utility trailer and took the grandkids on a ride. They loved it.

I put new gauge wheels on the 63c deck and found some issues so ordered new hardware to finish the job when it comes in.

Moved a 16” and 8” trailer off the parking pad which will serve as our launching pad for a few fireworks tonight.

Dang KBar, your tractor is a "Shining" example of the tractors I see on this site. Doesn't anyone sport a not so clean and shiny tractor? I don't see how you folks do it. Maybe I should cut back some on my 12 oz curl exercise and give the 1026R a little more attention.
Just enjoy the 12 oz curls while you’re in the tractor shed.

Did some 62C deck TLC: lubed spindles and drive shaft, gear oil ck, removed, sharpened, and reinstalled blades, then did A-Z deck leveling. It’s spot on now. We’ll see how she cuts later this week. Still letting the WeedClear do it’s thing a cpl more days. There’s Bermuda under there somewhere.

I was out of town for a week so no seat time. Got back this afternoon and decided to at least mow the front (10,000 sq ft). Felt good to get back on the tractor after being cooped up with family. Wouldn’t give up the time with grand daughters but glad to be home.

Aerated the front 10,000 sq ft, let the plugs dry all day, then “mowed them in” this evening. Still had a bit of debris so I swept up the rest.

Picked up a sprayer so I wired 12v from the battery to a QD set. I like this QD because the spring loaded cover has a socket built in that mates with the plug to hold it in. I don’t exactly have golf course smooth ground here so that feature will keep things attached.

Used my AL loading ramps to load it up and took it to church to spread mulch in the playground.

How did that pull? I've got a 16 foot trailer that I loaded my 1025r on and pulled behind my Ford flex. I was a bit shocked that it pulled well but brake controller was a necessity and ultimately decided not to pull it with it unless absolutely necessary.
It pulled fine …but you’re right, I wouldn’t take it any further than the church which was 15 min away. I went nice and slow because I don’t have trailer brakes.

Scalped the crabgrass, aerated, and overseeded today. I tried putting the Brinley tow behind aerator on the forks rather than towing; bad execution, ended up bending some spoons. Went back to towing it, and by adjusting the tongue height setting and wheel lever, then just using the rock shaft and iMatch I’m able to lift the spoons high enough to drive over the gravel driveway without hitting and able to make sharp turns, then drop the spoons back down to keep plugging.

Still need to spread one more bag of seed and water it in, and hopefully have a nicer yard next month. Mid day sun and low 90s convinced me to hydrate and enjoy some air conditioning right now.

Good idea allowing the bar to swivel like that

Get some preemergent down before the soil hits 70°F in the Fall, then 50°F and again at 70°F in the Spring. That should take care of a lot of the weeds. Keep it mowed, watered, and fed and you should see some remarkable improvements.
