I prefer needle small nose vise grips and the come in handy for other uses.First
Go to HF and get a couple of these for a buck each
View attachment 822673 They work. Trust me
As far as the diesel smell go into the laundry room and swipe some of the wife’s dry laundry detergent and rub vigorously. I’m not sure it does the job fully but it atleast masks the smell to a bearable level.
You need to get a cargo unloader/ the thing that unrolls a tarp type material in your bed attached to your tailgate with a crank handle. Seems goofy but they really work. I´ve unloaded yards of gravel and compost over the years to my amazement quiet easily. Seems I got the new one at HF. I bought them for my kids also and we all have good luck with them. Some Yayhoo on a road grader scraped all my gravel off the road shoulder couple weeks ago. I had it there for the garbage cans. It’s all leaning way too far for my liking and the garbage cans barely stay upright like they wanna fall over. I had it at 2% with the road crown and he just gouged it down to around 4% and now a stiff breeze could knock the cans over.

Hard to see in the pic but the tractor is sitting in a low spot that I’m fixing to do something about. When I originally got Natalie’s that gravel it was with a wheelbarrow before I got my tractor so now I want to do it proper
So I went to the local gravel yard. Pretty convenient little spot real close to home and help can get pickup loads for cheap.

Kid was scared loading it said it’s his first Platinum load. I said it’s just a truck. Load that sucker!
So he did
View attachment 822787 Airbags just got pushed up on the to do list.
It’s less than a mile from my house so whatever. Rode fine on the E rated tires.
Got home and started the suck. Shoveling 5/8” minus outta the back of my truck…atleast I didn’t need a wheelbarrow as a smartass friend told me.

Rebuilt the shoulder back up to my liking and tire rolled it in. Gravel was nice and wet so it packed down nice. Plus this stuff he gets from the local paving plant that adds slag to their mix. Packs down real tight.
View attachment 822789 View attachment 822790 View attachment 822791 Now you see the low spot where the tractor is
Welp. Time to haul some dirt out there. 20 or so trips with the 1025R is rough on the back and my butt burrito is on its last breath. I need a new one.
View attachment 822793 View attachment 822794 Finished it off and tire rolled it. Dirt was a little too wet for my liking so I’ll fine tune it once it dries out a little and seed it

Very very nice, good luck with her and have fun with it. Boy they´re nice when they´re new.Well, I didn’t do much with her except pull her around into the shed but I did get a pic! Just got her delivered as the dealer has had her about a week installing the grapple and third function.

How about this itemwell crap. I ordered this last night and completely over looked this. looks like I will be returning this.
Do you or anyone else have a better option? I saw someone on here recommended the Raider version of that but the reviews were terrible so I didn't want to waste my time and money on something that was a high chance of leaking.
Any suggestions. Maybe a plastic valve. Maybe I will just stick to my needle nose vise grips to gently pinch off the line when changing that filter.Just keep in mind that brass isn't very compatible with biodiesel. "Brass may accelerate the oxidation process of biodiesel creating fuel insolubles or gels and salts."
Sounds like that´s what we´re going to get in eastern Ct...Bummer.Got a nice snow cover now and I hate slushy crap.Thats crazy. I have set up my go pro in my kitchen window looking out over my driveway to the barns taking a picture every minute. I jumped the gun by a couple hours as I set it up around 11am thinking the snow was starting at noon. but my hope is to catch the snow storm thats supposed to be one of the biggest snow falls in our area of all time. but so far its just rain. everything is a soupy sloppy mess.
I noticed, but as the FNG here I just let it ride. My assumption is last time it was washed it looked clean but still had some spores that bloomed over the winter...and you'd clean it up after getting the outdoor spigots turned back on after the risk of freezing is over.
We used some of the box store siding wash last year, and it worked ok. But it took more than the label said it would. Haven't seen any significant regrowth of mildew since, so it must have done something to any spores that weren't fully washed off.
I've used 30 Second Outdoor cleaner with much success. Inexpensive and everybody sells it. It's my outdoor cleaner go-to.I noticed, but as the FNG here I just let it ride. The seat looks identical to my '96 425. Looks like the axle is in the right place by the position of the inner yoke??? The housing probably broke at the differential or came unbolted? Not good. Very curios.Look how far those rear wheels are sticking out on that machine. Being a 445 and all wheel steer, something is seriously going on with that machine, besides the obvious problem with the tire chain.......which can and will tear the crap* out of things under the machine........plus, well,.........look at the picture............
(*that's a highly technical term, reserved for those special cases......)
How do I know this is a 445 and AWS from the picture?
- The fuel cap is red on the diesels so that tells me its not the diesel or it has the wrong fuel cap. Plus the diesel wouldn't be stuck....
- It also appears to have the suspension under the seat, which the 425 didn't have. The seat on the 425 is a lower back seat and mounted more on a pedestal than the $450 seat suspension platform used on the 445 and 455 machines, which have the higher back deluxe seats (at that time)......
- The body style is 4x5 and the decals on the rear fender are usually the "All Wheel Steer" unless someone did something "custom" to the decals. They resemble and are placed where the "All Wheel Steer" decals are usually located.
- Plus you can see the additional brackets under the rear axle for the AWS function, which is part of the reason it appears this machine is hung up.
But dang, those wheels are sticking WAY out from under the fenders so he must have wheel spacers on that machine. Those machines are very stable so the wheel spacers aren't to improve the foot print stability. And generally, you don't need the wheel spacers to put the tire chains on those machines, either. At least I never did on any of those machines..........
It looks like a nice condition machine and I like how he has both a top flap extension and width extenders on the front plow.......Also the plow is much newer than the machine, based upon the plow having "modern decals" on it, which were different on the plows which came with the 4x5 machine in the time period of 1992 -2001, when they were being produced and sold.
That's all I see in that photo...............Anyone else pick up any other details?
Wow,Talk about open land, nice. I'm sure your get it to where you want it, just takes time. Good luck. Oh and nice fence.Wife and I got 31 seedling trees planted started our wind break should get some more done tomorrow!

Almost everything from our many gardens and kitchen scraps. When things change with taste or the season its goes there. No weeds or invasives. Waste not want not.I like that idea. Building a larger compost area is on my to-do list. What do you compost that you get that much? We compost kitchen scraps and the little bit of yard waste we get (minus grass clippings, I don't collect them). After a year, we get about 3 cups of compost 🤬
Nice work. Just an opinion I service 2 1025r's and never remove the wheels, don't know if you have to for the Hydoplus kit.Began work/upgrades on tractor. Removed rear tire, I forgot I had them loaded!! Drained engine oil and let it drain overnight last night. Tonight I changed engine oil filter and drained hydraulic fluid, changed hydraulic filter, cleaned hydraulic screen and reinstalled that. Then started gettin stuff laid out for Hydroplus install. I'm tryin to decide if I wanna remove MMM lift linkage. I have another mower and for the near future will never use it, just can't sell it because of financing. Will begin Hydroplus tomorrow night hopefully. Got it up to 72 in garage with kerosene heater, worked great, warmer than house, was 32 when I turned it on. Felt great after workin outside all day.
