Just finished up doing some parking lot work for the golf course and got back home and unloaded the tractor.
This new addition wanted to see what I was doing, so I put her on the seat and took her picture.

Meet Sadie, a 5 month old Terrier mix. She is a little sweetheart, but chewing on everything is her favorite pastime so far.

Now it’s time to give the tractor a bath to get all the rock dust washed off. Sadie will likely help since she loves water.

This project was a fun one.
I toured through this walking trail with a tine rake and 54" land plane for an Airbnb property.
Previously the trail had orange marker flags to help find your way and the trail had multiple trip hazards with rocks, tree limbs and uneven sections.
This cleaned things up for them. I need to get better at taking before photos. I get too excited and get right into it.

Very nice. Working on that now on my property. Slow going. Lots of saplings and brambles as well huge bull pines to clear.

Mowed the yard. Farewell green cool season grass… hello brown summer.

While the yard now has a base of about 50% good cool season perennials (fescues and KBG) the other half is poa which is dying off, plus clover. Hopefully the crabgrass stays under control (shhhh, don’t tell the mrs I used pre-emergent). This fall I’ll do a heavy overseed and try some ethofumasate (poa constrictor) to try to thicken up the desired grasses.

Considering this was mostly bare dirt and a half dozen wide burn piles when we moved in, I'm happy. The last owners tried growing grass and even seeded it again before we bought, but with no topsoil and an out of whack pH the weeds didn't want to grow, not even crabgrass, dandelions, or poa. Two years later after several doses of lime, Mag-I-Cal, and a lot of aerating, it's finally starting to come together.

Would love to live in an area (and have some acreage) that has tall timber like you show in background. 🐺

The trees were definitely a selling point. The last paved road before our driveway is narrow and covered with arched trees, like going through a tree tunnel that opens into farm fields. Then our driveway goes through the fields for 3/4 mile and enters another area of trees. There are so many trees around the house we can't see anything but yard and forest in any direction. We see deer, raccoons, rabbits, foxes, and turkeys grazing in our yard, but no people other than delivery drivers or the neighbors when we're driving past their homes.

Well two weeks ago I wired my old 25 gallon sprayer and sprayed our yard, all went well, last weekend I purchased a new Frontier SS2067B spreader for our yard and my wife suggested I help (volunteer) to spread fertilizer at our local cemetery, my wife is on the cemetry board for our small community cemetery, Friday night she suggested that I get a larger sprayer to handle the (voluntary) spraying at the cemetery also, who am I to argue!
Are the pics of the old 25 gallon sprayer or of your new larger one?

I made a similar switch from a small 15 gallon tow behind on my X590 to a 25 gallon 3 point from Bxpanded. Works really well, this picture was my first trial a month ago. Used it tonight as a portable water station to water some new trees I planted around the property (only 1 acre) but it certainly beats dragging out the hoses!

I haven’t had a chance to uses chemicals in it yet but planning on it soon for herbicide. I presume that I will have to use ammonia or something similar to clean it out if I want to go back to just water again.

You can use a specific sprayer cleaner, like this one, which I have used and switch between water, Killz All (which really kills all, so it has to be clean afterwards) and general broad leaf spray and other chemicals.........

Just make sure to run it through all of the hoses, spray nozzles, etc. My 3ph sprayer has a really nice fire hose type nozzle on the 25' of hose, so I make sure to run the cleaner through everything to make sure its really clean.....otherwise you can have some issues..........

I have some tank cleaner for mine but haven't had to use it yet. But wondered just how well that works.

Cut up a downed tree and hauled all of the brush away for a neighbor. He was doing this with a wheel barrow and his wife suggested he contact me, which saved him a ton of time. I hauled 6 loads of grapple packed tree limbs.

I have found it works so much better to gather a load with the grapple, then compact it packing the load tightly with the grapple jaws. Then open the jaws back up, drive further into the brush pile again, gather some more, compact it, usually two or three times to really get a full grapple load.

Also, use the small top handle, Arbor chain saw on the Big Tool Rack to cut off the long stragglers as I have to haul the debris 1/2 mile down the road to reach the dump site and I don't like to have too much hanging over the lane width on either end of the grapple. The small saw is very handy for this....Just toss the cut off stuff onto the next pile or pack it into the grapple once cut shorter......I hate losing ANY debris and having to stop and pick it up before reaching the brush pile.

Then I cut up the tree and split it with my splitting axe. I ended up with 5 loads in the Big Tool Rack which looked like this.

With the weight of the rack itself (about 300 pounds empty) and then the 6 suitcase weights I have hanging on the front of the BTR for ballast which is another 250+ pounds, a load of split woos, etc of this size, reaches the load limit for the BTR and the 3ph on the 1 series.

It's interesting because the higher you lift the Big Tool Rack, the closer it is to the back of the tractor and the better the tractor's steering with the extreme weight on the 3ph. I started out with the loaded Big Tool Rack barely 12" off the ground and the front of the tractor even with the grapple was so light, I had trouble getting the tractor turned on the pavement. The moment I lifted the Big Tool Rack as high as I usually carry it, the steering returned and the load was moved without as much drama............

Sure is nice to have the chain saw, extra fuel, chain oil, spare chains, tools, Splitting Axe and rake, etc, etc, right there on the rack with me all of the time.........Very handy and efficient way to get things done............

The smaller saw I carry is on the left side of the rack in the photo. I was cutting the large rounds, which were about 20" in diameter, so I had the larger saw off the BTR to cut the rounds. Holding the logs in the grapple and chunking them into lengths for splitting is so much nicer than cutting on the ground. Then I stacked the rounds on the stump and split them down as shown........

Then when all done, I pulled the battery powered blower off the BTR and cleaned out the BTR box and even the front of the tractor getting the saw dust and other wood stuff off of and out of everything. I even use the blower to clean the inside of the cab as I end up tracking in sawdust from the work being done, open both doors and let the air blow everything out, from inside the cab........I had saw dust and wood chips everywhere when I finished this one..............

I Sure like the Big Tool Rack.....

I also carry my "Weed Popper" on the rack and when I see a dandelion along the pavement on any of the lawns I take care of, I can stop and pop it out of the lawn, and put the weed into the bucket I carry on the rack. I recently popped a dandelion with a 14" main root......Empty into the trash when I get home......All weed infestations start at the edge of hard surfaces and work their way into the lawn. Get the weeds early, and avoid larger weed battles later.............

I found the best way to clean the tank is to fill it about 1/3rd full and then add the cleaner and reach inside the tank with a long handled brush (like a tire brush for car washing) and scrub inside the tank.

Then I fill it 2/3rds full by adding water to the solution in the tank and driving around a rough area and let the solution and water really wash around inside the tank. I run the water and cleaner through the hose and sprayer and the spray heads on the sprayer, I do this on a stone driveway which benefits from anything that helps control weeds........Then rinse out with fresh water after emptying the tank.

Cleaning the tank is somewhat a pain, but not cleaning it will render it useless for anything but the chemical used in it................

You will find you need the tilt cylinders too. You won't be able to keep loads level without them when they get heavy. The tilt cylinders already can't tilt what it lifts stock. The Hydros Plus tilt cylinders fixed that on mine.

Tested out my new job pole I fab’d up this evening. I have to set trusses in my new barn, trusses weigh 158#. As you see, I tested 168# and it was successful. It should reach just over 13’ in the air at the top. I might have to get a little creative on my rigging, I need 13’ exactly, but I’m confident it should get it.
