Yesterday, driveway work on a neighbors in 92 degree temps, it was oppressive and my clothes were soaked after 8 hours out in the sun on the pavement. I started at 7am and was off the pavement by 3:30pm when it "feels like it's 99 degrees" according to the weather app, as I thought I was about to drop at that point.
I did finish all of the repair work. I am up against a deadline and need to get it done while they are out of town. I will post pictures of the before and after when finished...today is the seal coating.
As if that wasn't enough, here was 4 hours worth of landscape clean up on Friday morning at another house, waiting for driveway materials to be delivered to the project site, with before and after pictures. A work in progress, but so far, a noticeable improvement..........the yard box sure is handy for such projects. Stage the box where needed and it eliminates carrying clean up debris or weeds. In 4 hours, filled the yard box 2 times, heaping full from this landscape. About 20% completed on this project.
The landscape clean up is for a neighbor who's wife always tended their landscape and plants. She passed away about a month ago and she hadn't been able to work in the landscape for over a year. I wanted to surprise the neighbor as he commented about how his wife would be "unhappy" with how their landscape was looking. He was very happy to see the clean up and it looking like when his wife took care of the flowers and upkeep...........
The yard box is shown on the sidewalk in the one photo, almost out of the picture before the clean up began. Having an easy way to handle the clean up debris and weeds makes the clean up much faster......its still a lot of work, but it does look much better already.........You have to be careful when such emotions are attached to the flowers, etc. as in this case.
The daisy's and day lilies and a few other plants are taking over the landscaping, its surprising how invasive they can be. Also, trimmed her beloved rose bushes around the fountain, to remove winter kill, etc...... going to power wash the sidewalk and front steps when done......so everything is back in ship shape. The landscape beds shown are just the driveway side of the front entrance. The same continues on the right side of the front door and around the side of the house.
