I sometimes get to run some cool stuff and not so cool stuff.
Go ahead and post some of the gear you get to operate, run, have done at your place or work that us tractor guys find interesting.

This is an extra small mini excavator I got dropped off to fit in a narrow 44” gap behind a building. We have to dig down and remove the shoring below grade
. The I beams sticking out are soldier piles that were drilled and placed last year to build an underground parking garage. Now the tops need to begone for landscaping. I got a CAT 301.5 and it’s got the tracks that telescope out and in to squeeze through small spaces. Better than a shovel I guess

Sounds like the twin to mine but different brand.

The bummer is they are Not Zero clearence with the tracks sucked in.....That would be nice.

Very handy and capable machines.

Had to use a #3 torch to cut through these beams. That’s 2” thick. Anyone need some ballast? Pulling them out with the skinny mini was a challenge. 28 more to go

Seems like that would be hot work in that tight area.

That mini is like our 371 Bobcat. You don’t drive it so much as you wear it.

Yes. Very. Especially with a mask, hard hat, safety glasses(tinted), long sleeve shirt, safety vest, and torching/welding gloves on. And it was 75 today. Tomorrow we’re expecting rain all day. That’s another fun ride.

Yesterday
My least favorite is the backhoe but this one was a mule. We are removing old fuel tanks and digging for new ones in a busy fuel station. All new fuel lines are being run and we gotta backfill all with pea gravel. I got to screw around on the backhoe all day. Child’s play

I’ll mention the bottom of that hole is below sea level and even with nonstop pumps running, the shoring crew were having a chore to keep up
