So, What Did You DO In Your Shop Today??

OK, for me mowing and gardening season is over,,, I get to spend some QUALITY time in the shop.

Those projects that have been nagging me were left on the back burner because the weather was so nice.
My propane heaters are set up,,, I am ready to start some projects.

A couple weeks ago, I needed to drill some larger holes, so I finally ran power to the drill press.

Today, I ran power to the Jet 9x16 saw,, IT IS ALIVE!! :thumbup1gif:
I really missed the Jet saw, I have been making do with a Milwaukee Porta-Band.

So,,, what did you do in the shop,,, Today,,, ? :dunno:

MIL's new house needed a back door, so I installed one. Took about 2 hours, finished inside, need to make jamb extensions and trim outside. Older plaster house 5.5" jambs. Now I can paint the kitchen and she can move in.

I needed a way of moving IBC totes to our garden for watering. Our 2520 will only pick up about 100 gallons so that is about 1/3 of the totes capacity. So ... to make fewer trips, I made a cart to pull one tote behind the tractor. I can now move 1 full IBC and 1 partial on the forks.

After I had the frame made and was about to attach the axle, I noticed my plan of putting the axle in the middle just wasn't going to work. The IBC valve is in the middle and would have been behind the wheel. Oh well. We'll see how it does when the paint dries this week.

Finished up the festooning cable for the pedant on my cable hoist. Works great and it’s out of the darn way.

Will relocate electric reel another day.

Been giving my mower a good going over before it starts it's mowing duties. Needed a good cleaning and I like to touch up any scratches and chips. Replacing some nylon bushings that are part of all the suspension and deck floating mechanism.

Yeah, this started out as a rear wheel and lug bolt repair. One thing led to another and I also just found a broken bolt holding the motor to the base so now I will have to try and remove what's left of the stud. Gotta' get this back together asap, the grass is getting crazy high.

Knocked the rust off my fuel storage tank and painted it leather brown. Why brown? Because I had brown already.

I actually had black and safety yellow too. I figured black would be extra hot in the SC summer and safety yellow is....safety yellow.

Last night I threw together another 12' section.
Delivered and installed this afternoon.
(There's another 16' but water too deep to go out further at this time.

Last year I built a gazebo. This winter I made some furniture for said gazebo. I had it powder coated and my wife ordered cushions from an online source she has used in the past. Time to turn on the ball game and light a cigar.

Let's hope she's not one of those who likes to rearrange the furniture every year. Those thinks look heavy...

On the mule, I cut off the 1-1/4” receiver tube from the hitch bar and welded on a 2” tube.
Now I’ll be able to move the trailer around with it. 👍

Did an AC recharge on the old Sienna van. The air had quit blowing cold. After a shot of refrigerant it went from mid-70°s to <50° at the vents. Long ways to go to cook chicken now! 😂

It looked like it was already brown. I guess there is a difference between rust brown and leather brown.

It was more of a dark red/ rust. With allot of rust on it.

A few nights ago, I replaced the carburetor on an old Sears Craftsman push mower my dad gave me last year. YouTube is great for folks like me that grew up NOT mechanically minded. All running well now.

And then relaxed the next night outside with a small bonfire for 45 min or so. My wife (and I, when I can help) is working on potty training our daughter right now; it was nice for her and I to get out of the house when my daughter went to sleep and enjoy the quiet.

It’s great for small engine repairs! My dad can build most anything from scratch or repair it except for carburetors or transmissions.
