Thought I would start a thread about what you did on your property, farm or ranch today.
Maybe there’s a thread that already exists. I'm sure someone will let me know.

Id love to see what other people are up to and exchange ideas.

Got some nice rains last night and again today.
Pond got a little runoff and is at least filling up a little, only noticeable where I had dug it out the deepest.
Stull no inflow from the creek. Need a lot more heavy rains to get the creek flowing again.

Spent 5 hours in a 5085M mowing pasture. Had 15.36 tons of gravel delivered to my shop and spent most of Saturday evening and Sunday morning leveling and grading the drive and a few spots in the yard where trees had been removed a couple years ago. Also burned two huge brush piles. At least it was almost done before the rains hit on Sunday.

I finished putting the chicken run together that I started Saturday. It will be nice not having to worry about the chickens getting in the road or pooping all over the porch, garage, and driveway, eating the cat's food, ECT 🤣.

Before my helpers showed up (my 8 year old and 6 year old boys) I had the farm hand (3032e) help by holding the first back section in place while I attached it to the coop.

I used the tractor to get the spacing between the coop and barn for the front section. It only needed to move about 4" closer to the barn.

We always called them speed movers out on the farm, it’s sort of like a giant hydraulic controled wheeled box blade.
Company about an hour away builds them right here in KS .
Kingman, Kansas?

WIth Agco in Hesston, Cannonball in Kingman, and the new Kubota factory in Salina, your state is getting bigger in ag manufacturing.

Yep,
Flat Out is out in Kingman Kansas.
I did know about Agco in Heston, however, didn't know about the Kubota plant being in Salina.

But then again it aint green, I just really have never been much of a Kubota fan at all, so that might have something to do with it too. lol :p

I'll say this:
The manufacturers are very supportive of the local schools, FFA and 4H.

It's very common to see the factories donate equipment for a day to pull the floats in one parade or another. It makes me very proud to see that.

I had some V shaped dips in the front yard, irritating to cut so I got 18 tons of screened topsoil, put it down yesterday and smoothed out with 7ft EA rear blade turned backwards.
I discovered if I lowered blade halfway then angled it with hydraulic top link it worked better. Then packed it. Afterwards we got 2" rain. It turned out well except they must have screened it with chicken wire...lots of rocks I've been hand picking up, most about walnut to #57 gravel sized .
Then the old tobacco barn, the bottom was in bad shape. Years ago a contractor cut bottom 18" out, replaced it with pine. I should have taken a before picture. I used pressure treated 2x6s horizontal then 1x8s air nailed on. It's sitting on gravel, pt should last longer.

Son (#4) and daughter (#5) helped me weed the garden. I’m worn out, summer heat/humidity is here. Don’t know where boys 1-3 were hiding, but I couldn’t find em.

No doubt. I found them afterwards. The two oldest are in high school and were “studying for finals”. #3 was working on a project for school. They have heard me say this many times…., “you are just like a blister, you show up after all the work is done”.

They are good and usually carry their weight. I’m just giving them a hard time…… I’ve been blessed with great kids.

Dipped a toe into hay season cutting one small field and a portion of a larger one. I'm always hesitant on the first cutting of the year because I never know if our elderly equipment will make it another year, lol.

Kinda did the same thing back in 2014-15
I used plastic and had molding (flashing) made by a local continuous aluminum rain gutter company.

Some two wheeling. I was going to do a quick 4wd run through the mud but quickly realized that I probably didn't hook up the transfer case linkage when I was under it last time but thankfully I was able to make it out in 2wd before I got stuck.
