Found it in my yard after mowing with my 1025R + 60" MMM.
Tried to find where it came off the tractor, but can't see anything missing. Is it from under the mower?
Size is about 2.5 inches at widest diameter. Opening is about one inch.
Thanks, Grizzler

Grizzler, what other equipment do you have or have used lately in the vicinity of where it was found?

it may have no grease but come on guys the concept is the same its a dust cover to a ball joint of some sort so the OP should start thinking about what goes around his lawn that has a rubber dust cover. Some ideas (gear shifter, hydrolic shifter, tie rod, ball joint, etc. You have an ATV?, etc.

Just the 1025R, and a little JD 17P wagon that we use to put lawn clippings into. I've ruled out the wagon.

No ATV, or any other equipment.
I agree it looks like a rubber dust cover.
Has a part number 83213, so I will google that...

The 2.5 inches is what is throwing me. Seems big for the 1025R
Seems like it has grip knobs

Part is a harder plastic than flexible rubber,,, correct ?
How old is your mower or tractor.. if not very old , maybe a shipping cover to protect something and happen to be laying on top of deck and then fell off while he was mowing.

just a thought.

It's a flexible rubber. On the side opposite the number '83213' are the letters 'ZD'

The tractor is about 4 months old.

Here's a pic of the inside:

It looks guilty sawdust. If that is it then somebody didn't grease it and it was wanting it so bad it just got off to let them know "HEY I need grease".
