I buy from them too. They have the best customer service in the business but it's costs. I can't write my tools off so I try to get the cheapest I can buy them for but still buy from a reliable source.

Good if you're American, I'm not. Amazon ships via courier to Canada (if they even will ship sometimes they won't). Canucks get dinged big time by couriers, up to 30% of the cost of the item. Also, we have Amazon.ca, but not near as many products as the main Amazon, but it's getting better.

I think the half price thingy is a way for Amazon to clear out their existing stock, more than likely IR has a newer model coming out..... but it does feel sOOOO good to come out on top once in a while. :lol:


I think you guys up there make more money than we do down here, all things have a way of evening out. :lol::lol::lol:

No doubt, Costco is a prime example, they gobble up existing stock at a discount when a new model is just about to be released....

Not so sure about the more money bit. Taxes gobble up a good amount of that due to our universal health care. I make $2307 every two weeks, and clear a shade over $1300. Course a lot of it is union dues, medical plan, income tax, yada, yada, yada.

We pay $512 a month for the wife's medical plan and she can't use it because it has a $5000 deductible, every year it goes up too. If they stopped taking out taxes I don't think much would change for the average man, the worlds powerful movers and shakers would jack up the price on everything just like they did when women entered the work force. They ain't never gonna let little people keep their money.

Changed the key switch cylinder in it today before I dropped it off at the tire store to have it's oil and fuel filter changed and tires rotated.

It was a simple process, only takes a 1/8" flat tip punch to slip into a hole in the column beneath the key cylinder and put the old and new switch in run position is all you do.

Yup, done a couple over the years.... Wonder what we all did before the internent? I vaguely remember checking out libraries back in the 70's for repair manuals...

I bought a Motors Manual, back then it was a good auto repair book, you could call a tech if you had problems, todays repair books are not as thorough I've read unless you spend a few hundred to buy company manuals.


Tomorrow it supposed to be cooler so I'm going to try to fix the shifting linkage... There is supposed to be two bolts on the steering column bracket that always loosen up that causes the problem. If it's not the bolts I need to get under the van and take a clip off the shift cable, put the transmission's arm in the drive detent and the shifing arm centered in D and then hang a three pound weight off the shift arm, adjust out the cable's slack and then put the cable clip back on again. Sounds easy enough but we all know how that can go: ).
