Lol I buried my old F150 like that but was able to winch straight ahead. How did you mount that winch and what is it rated for? I considered doing the same on my 1025R except with a Badlands winch since I had great service from my last one.

Glad you got it out easily enough.

Well, you didn't walk away and leave it so at least it wasn't stuck. After bending out of shape did the fairlead still hold up to snapping the wire rope?

I am shocked that you sacrificed that invaluable toolbox on the front for a winch.

You could just replace winch cable. Glad it's out.
As a kid I got Granddad's Farmall tractor stuck in our lake up to the seat.
A neighbor tried his identical Farmall and chain on the drawbar...no luck.
But luckily we lived close to a tractor dealership. Owner drove an old (early 30s?) John Deere steel wheeled tractor down with a big chain. Big JD, can't remember model but thinking it was 2 cylinder...big flywheel.
Very low rpm (putt-putt). I hooked chain on and JD never changed pitch...drug it out like it was a toy.
Then I realized why neighbor couldn't budge it since I had left it in first gear!

Those old JD's had a lot of torque, if it had steel wheels it was probably a D, largest Deere made when it came out, also one of, if not the, longest made models of JD's, 1920's to 1953.

I bought the same winch for my Kawasaki Mule. When you get it cleaned up, can you post a better picture of the failed winch fairlead? Was it a roller bolt, or mounting bolt?
I am considering changing the wire to synthetic rope and an aluminum hawse style fairlead. I am just not sure what size (diameter and length) synthetic rope the spool will hold. IIRC the specs says it has 79' of 1/4" wire rope.

All of it. Lol. the roller bolt, roller and plate folded over. The fairlead mount bolt is fine.
